No, I don't want to wait for the new one. I need a small , inexpensive ($200-$300) media consumption tablet in the Apple ecosystem that's bigger than my iPhone 15 pro max. New one will be more than what I need and way expensive.

the lowest the 6 has been is $375 at Amazon about a month ago.
the ipad mini 6 has the A15 chip. works fine for me, especially coming from an old mini 2.
i'd like to compare the two side-by-side, just for curiosity.

I've M1 Air and I frequently face issues with Bluetooth, AirPlay, and AirDrop that I don't face with my iPad Air with non-M chip. And I've seen similar complaints online. I would skip M1. Maybe they have fixed those isssues in M2 or M3.

For GC I think Apple accessories are outrageous and I purchased the ESR package (foilo, pen pro) for $85 (no tax btw) which if I did Apple it would be $400 (minus the $100 gc). I though about it and my kid wanted one for college. I was just going to get the ipad 10 for $329 but I ended up getting this because the M1 has neural engine and I am thinking in the next 4-5 years AI will come to these devices and the A14 (ipad 10) will be left out in the cold or will be 100% cloud based and by that meaning they will charge you or spy on you or both. Not saying they won't on M-based but at least inference can be done locally. I suppose its a $70 guess.
The one thing I dislike is the 64gb, it should be 128gb min so that did make me think long and hard before pulling the trigger but alas I bit on this deal. Now the question is will the kid break it, prob. I already had to replace the screen for her air 2 once...
As to no tax on GC delta, I live in NY they tax the original full price so YMMV.
