Been looking for a discount on this game since I found out of its existence just a couple weeks ago. Previous deals were from CDkeys and the like. Held off on those gray market sites. Finally happy with Humble Bundle.
It's a Steam code. For some reason this game is not included in the current Steam summer sale. It's still at $20. Good 85% discount here for $3.

Game is fun for an hour then just becomes a mundane and boring slogfest.
I 100% agree. Too many people on here keep saying this game is "fantastic" or something along those lines. As far as film licensed games go, it is one of the better ones, but it's not some good game. There are too many actual good games out there to waste time on a mediocre one like this.
If this game wasn't so repetitive in its open world take-over aspects, like repetitive base captures and such it'd be a great game. Kind of why I stopped playing mafia 3, loved the game but couldn't just keep wasting my time on capturing the sections of the city.
Get this game for a unique open world experience unlike Ubi/Horizon/witcher/TES/Reddead etc. The person combat is bare and plain, a pale copy of Arkham style. The center piece for this game is the car battles. That long chase, reaching the caravan, taking out one vehicle at a time and reaching the head vehicle. Absolute perfection.
The story is just something to move things along but not needed. I'd say it actually feels quite futile in trying to make Max "Mad". The true story is Max's endless drive to the plains of silence. That endless drive through the true wasteland(and not just a junk yard like Fallout or archeological site like Horizon games).
The only big misstep is the ingame economy. You really need to get every piece of in game currency to get the best late game upgrades. So right from the start collect every piece of ingame currency.
Every game is repetitive. It's called the gaming loop. I'd say this is the best Batman combat game considering it has the best vehicle combat of any Batman combat game. I'm considering this just to have it on PS and PC.

This is a good game, but it does get repetitive. I fire it up every once in a while and knock out some missions because it's fun driving around and beating the crap out of stuff, but there are only a handful of mission types. Also I hate the sandstorms

No S Sherlock. But the point was... the repetitive loop becomes mundane and boring.

This game was $13 on CDkeys just one week after release. I'm guessing due to poor timing with release of a MGS game. This game is also very repetitive just like their Just Cause franchise but driving and the story is good. Could have been a open world game for everyone to enjoy but no, they turned off online.

Lol honestly just wanted the game as a fan of the original Mad Max movies. And at this price don't really care about longevity. Just wanna drive around as Max for a bit in his dystopian world.

I've been playing it for the last few weeks on my Steam Deck. Yes, it's repetitive but still fun to drive around and destroy other cars. Definitely worth $3.
I haven't actually seen the movie but this game plays like a dream on my steam deck, really fun game mechanics and voice acting. Post-apocalyptic GTA.
Oh man...do yourself a favor and watch Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior[max.com]
You can skip the first movie and come back to it later if you want. It's pretty low budget and I think works best as a prequel to The Road Warrior.
The third movie Beyond Thunderdome is good too.
The latest movie Fury Road from like 7 years ago isn't bad, and actually has quite the fan base now, but imo young Mel Gibson was the perfect Max in Road Warrior.
Hopefully the next movie will go back to the lone wolf style where Max is actually the sole protagonist.
I still liked it, and it ran well on really ancient computers. If you want to make it less repetitive, just set the game on easy. Way better than a lot of games based on movies.
This was the first game our son (aged 7 at the time) and I played together on. Repetitive? Yes. Towards the end it gets pretty easy, but fun nonetheless. It was fun to see characters from this game (Scrotis and Chumbucket) in the Furiosa film.

Felt the same way about Mafia 3 and it still haunts me. I wish the gameplay were good enough to finish the game
