They are stainless steel. And the usual color of stainless steel. "Silver" in the description has no meaning whatsoever.

Oneida is one of the best silverware maker, we have a set that we got form Macy's 10+ years ago, they still look new and they have curves and grooves. When we first bought 2 knives rusted and they mailed us 2 new ones immediately. Great customer service.
Are there any deals on bigger sets?

Their standard is now 18/0 stainless and it used to be 18/10 or 18/5 depending on the "tier" of flatware you bought. While it is still some of the best, especially for the price, it is not the same quality from 10+ years ago.

We lost a fork and bought a replacement set that is 18/0 since they don't make it in 18/10 now. The new ones are significantly lighter and prone to scratching and discoloration. They are still nice, but absolutely not the same quality they used to be. The originals from 2012 look nicer than the replacements from 2 or 3 years ago.

I have an old set of Oneida too. The older sets are likely 18/10 stainless, which has great rust and scratch resistance. Unfortunately Oneida has become a mass market brand focusing more on quantity than quality and mostly produces 18/0 silverware, like these. These will absolutely not stand up like the older Oneida sets.

Thank you so much, while I would definitely check if they are 18/10 or not when buying, I might have overlooked. Thanks for the heads up!

Thank you as well, what's a good brand these days. We found these at Bloomingdales for $180 and these at Macy's for $130 on sale same as amazon:

Not sure which ones to get. Wife wants change. I think it's a good compromise to make her happy for under $200 on new silverware.. Just not sure about quality these days.

Oneida makes "fine flatware" that is 18/10 still. It just costs more and most of the visual styles are too ornate for my taste.
