I own the Q990D, and while it's amazing, it's main feature is 120 Hz. The sound quality is basically identical.

I'm always connected hdmi cables direct. If someone has fast internet speeds is connecting over wireless a better option with no lag or always better to connect directly with wires? From soundbar to tv etc

Sorry, I do not follow what you are asking. The 120 Hz and HDMI 2.1 abilities will not have anything to do with Internet or wireless. The reason they are on the soundbar is 1) in case your TV doesn't have eARC and 2) to avoid the audio lag introduced when using eARC.

Depending on how in the weeds you want to get, you can also argue that eARC has limitations when using built-in TV apps. It cannot give a full uncompressed audio signal back to the soundbar in that case. No Internet streaming service uses TrueHD, so it's not really an issue there, but it will be an issue if you are using something like Plex to stream 4k HDR with TrueHD from a home server.

Yes. I believe they have a cheaper version where the sub powers both speakers via speaker wire, but for the 990 series, both of them need plugged into the wall.

I've never bought a system like this. I'm curious if there's overlap or interference with WiFi? My router is an AC and I'm satisfied with it. Uses 2.4ghz and 5ghz. I'm not sure I could relocate it and it's near my TV.
