If you haven't ordered through the Samsung store app before then login there and add to cart. You may get an additional $50 discount. Once it's added to cart from the app, you can check out from PC to take advantage of CB offers elsewhere.

I own the Q990D, and while it's amazing, it's main feature is 120 Hz. The sound quality is basically identical.

Do we hook this up to receiver or directly connect to projector via HDMI?
Currently have a 5.1 wired speaker connected via receiver.
Why would you have a receiver in the mix with this soundbar? Either hook everything up to the soundbar if you don't have any devices that use 4k/120Hz and then the soundbar into eARC on your TV, or run everything to the TV and the soundbar into eARC if you do.

If i've never had a home sound system would this be an ideal choice or should I go with a home theater? I do like the wireless connectivity but looks like the short power cables will be a challenge. Any thoughts or advice? Thanks!

TBH this Soundbar is pretty average…. its a fair deal price for what it is. Save money with a similar sounding vizio or JBL…..or spend up for a better quality system.
Bass is weak and surround upmixing is poor….. most modes dont even use a majority of the drivers. Music is especially poor - no presence. Its Fugly too!
Returned mine after a few weeks despite the deal …..too much fiddling with adjustments and none of sound modes really sounded great.

Sony, Bose, Sonos, and JBL blow this away.
Totally agreed! I just got mine and was super excited after reading all of the awesome reviews. Set it up and was disappointed. Not sure how to fully explain and since each person's preferences are different I'll just say it wasn't living up to my expectations.

My unit also has the subwoofer dropping its connection every 10-15 second and reconnecting. After disconnecting the subwoofer bc it was annoying, the system sounded really bad. I agree with the other poster who said without the subwoofer this soundbar was equal to or worse than the tv speakers….I know that sounds crazy, but at least to me it felt that way.

Returning and going to try out another soundbar that sounds better as an all around system.

How come this system setup on Xbox series x if you play co play / split screen online the rear speakers or surround sound you would call it will never work? It's so weird. They only work on single player. I swear the q950t rear speakers worked always in multiplayer. I tried everything all the settings and modes from tv to Xbox. It's set to atmos hdmi since that's the best sounding. Xbox is connected to hdmi port in soundbar then arc to tv. Always had it that way. Why won't my rear speakers turn on in Xbox multiple split screen? It sounds amazing surround sound on all movies and single game play. Working as designed?

I bought it last week. My previous one was JBL bar 9.1. quite similar in terms of SQ but satellites are much better in this compared to JBL. Jbl bass was heavier and more rumbly compared to this but I don't care about it that much overall I like this better, seems like a better device overall.
I am getting 9.1 for $574 ish from Jbl and q990c sealed from someone who doesn't need it for $700; which one should I choose

Def Samsung. Jbl bar 9.1 has a lot of connectivty issues and it's widespread between all units

Watched 1917 with my new Q990C and the sound quality is amazing. The spec says the standby power is 0.5W, however the bottom of the soundbar always feels pretty warm, even after I turned off the WiFi and Bluetooth ports. The standby power is definitely not just 0.5W. Anybody seeing the same?

I have a q900a (with the add on swa-9500s speakers); just wondering how these two compare to each other. I've done the googling but hearing/seeing a lot of complaints about the 990c.

Just wondering is it worth my upgrade from the 900a to the 990c?

My subwoofer was doing the same thing unfortunately. I opted to return and rebuy and will pray that new one doesn't have any issues.

No complaints. Amazing. Much clearer quality in the voices and louder fuller than the 900 or 950t.

I found a whacky hack to get the EPP price, it's really complicated to reproduce but.... here goes

I used my work email, it says "sorry your work isn't part of the EPP"

I log in anyways, shows $1399 or whatever regular price.

I click the links in this thread, pick student log in, use the same work id, it wants to do ID.ME, back out. Click the product on this thread, do a search, you will see it show for $700 but when adding to cart it switches the price on you.

Click back in the student log in, log out, back to EPP page, log in, click the product on this page, it will add to cart for $700 finally. I can't check out, it says "unexpected error" at the final checkout button. Talked to customer service and they said "the product is sold out" which I think they're lying to get me to go away. Maybe it will work for someone else.
