Can't quite wrap my head around why this costs so much. A bit of wood and moveable tray and boom add $70+ to a similar itx case.

It's gorgeous, well made, and highly rated?

I wish I had gotten this instead of their console-shaped case (for $99). I think it came out right after I made that purchase.

I've built in this a few times. If you plan your parts properly you will not have any issues. There is a considerable amount of planning you need to do before building in this or mimic another build someone has confirmed worked.

it's the normal SFF tax, or rather in more general terms, the economics of scale (sff is niche, thus per unit has to be more expensive to break even) vs whatever case you're talking about.

I mean it's really silly to break down an item to its base components in the first place as "just a normal case with a bit extra". Extra tooling touches and engineering/good sff case design costs a lot of money.

Ty for answering logically. I was thinking along the line of less material and similar cases costing significantly less. I can understand the lower sales and thus needing to make more per case.
I am happy to see dan case and lian li making a $70 matx collab, maybe they will move on to sff next.

They already did, did they not? I'm talking about the Lian Li A4-H20, came out before the A3-mATX and it is priiiiicey ($200)

I don't know if the price drops will hit ITX like that but the Cooler Master NR200 hit $40 or something a year ago so I might just be talking out my ass - https://slickdeals.net/f/16756796-cooler-master-nr200-small-form-factor-mini-itx-case-white-40-after-30-rebate-free-s-h?src=SiteSearchV2Algo1. NR200 is kind of cheating though since it's basically an mATX case anyways at ~20L. I mean it looks very similar to the A3-mATX already and the case can technically fit some of the smaller sized mATX board natively. A lot of the care and considerations that go into cases like the Fractal Terra to make building inside of it less painful can be skipped past with a case being ~20L. And of course Cooler Master does way more volume than the other two companies so they can make it cheaper. But again, might just be talking out of my ass. I'd love a not $200 Lian-Li ITX case.

A good alternative to the FormD T1 especially at this price point.

Surprised this isn't brought up, but the cutout of the side panel causes an annoying sound when the heatsink fan is too close. Gamersnexus tested and several owners of this case confirmed.

Highly recommend you leave some space between the heatsink and side panel to avoid the annoying turbulence

My issue with these builds is, not enough USB slots. My currrent PC motherboard has 8 USB slots, and they are all full Frown

keyboard, mouse, camera, printer, headphones, 2 external drives for backups, printer.

This case motherboard has got to have less I'd guess?

I had this case in Jade for my most recent build. I ended up selling it and getting a T1. The difference in quality is staggering. T1 is certainly more expensive but this is definitely a situation where you get what you pay for.

Get a USB hub and plug it into the back so you can't see it. I do this for my wireless USB dongles on my micro PC. It does the trick.

I felt building in one of these was awesome. You can really fit waaay more in here than you think. The central rail system is very well done.

Cooler Master NR200P is a nice SFF mini-itx case without a lot of limits besides wanting a SFX PSU.
Fellow NR200P owner checking in. Not only can the NR200P fit an mATX motherboard (only of certain specs; typically 2 RAM slots and with a size below a few widely posted numbers - 226 mm in height, and 244 mm in width) but it also can house an ATX PSU. Sure, it cuts into top fan options (or bottom GPU size) a bit, but that's to be expected in a tiny case.

Hardwood is expensive. Almost $10 /ft for 1" thick x 6" wide unfinished at the Depot.

I did not think it would work. They dont interfere with eachother? the slotted items in the USBs? that might be the way to go on this then... How many USB spots does trhe hub have?
