shelf life (6mos-2yrs) according to care guide on a site from Vanilla Bean Kings.

Note that this seller has good reviews and also offers other size packages at less good per unit deals, but much more reasonable pricing than I have seen for vanilla beans elsewhere.

Recently made homemade ice cream using vanilla extract, texture was good but I thought flavor would be even better using the real thing.

FWIW, Grade A beans are not usually used for making extract. You can save yourself some money by going with grade B.

At this price, getting these Grade A beans are still a good value for making extract. For those interested, up "double fold" vanilla extract for more flavor. Great timing to start the process now for Christmas gifts!
