13mm will be a little lighter, have more pop.

16mm will be more cushioned, a little softer touch.

Most consider 13mm to be a little more power and 16mm to be softer and slightly more control.

The 13 may be better for those who need some pop perhaps for drives or slams, while the 16 may be better for those who want better control of resets/slow downs.

Thanks! Whats the 13mm and 16mm on the bat? Is one better than the other?
13mm will mean it'll pop off your paddle more (more power). If you want more control, 16mm! It's just thickness of the paddle. I prefer thinner paddles but most pros use thicker for more control.

My paddle is 280 but I'm sponsored and I'll never actually pay that much haha. The most expensive is 333 dollars, I believe?

+1. I think this is a good deal for a solid paddle.

Rounded out my order with some cheap pickleballs (PCKL Elite 40 are 4 for $4) and 50% off Patagonia hat for the wife - only way to justify my purchase Smilie

I bought a pair of SLK Selkirk Prime Max Paddles from Costco for $55 and we like them a lot. How do these compare for casual players?
Thanks!

The prime max paddles have no grit and are super entry level. They use older material and if I remember correctly, are just thick and sturdy cardboard. It'll be night and day once you switch to this paddle.

I see the set at Costco.com for $80. Was it on sale or did you get it cheaper in store?

i play like 4 times a week and people will hate on those balls alone. the paddles meh like save your money go on aliexpress and get the juciao paddles. theyre around $30 each. the franklin x40 balls are good balls that are 3 for $10 and i get that this is slickdeals so youre trying to find the cheapest intro paddle for beginners but the wood paddles and the cheaper kits are just kits to get you in. better off to get something a little bit better and go up higher after than to start at the worst option and then go up one step etc
