We can get a 10% Off coupon from Alienware Arena, that will reduce the price to 899 before taxes. I just ordered with this and this should be applicable for all US orders

None of that is relevant to whether this is a deal or not. A better price will always arrive down the road when it comes to tech. By then there will be something newer/better/faster/whatever.

Then don't buy it right now. Not sure why you're threadcrapping and spamming this thread nonstop with your negativity.

Capital one didn't do their thing until after I already placed my order. Oh well I'm fine with the 12%. Got mine today and just set it up. It is a beauty. Just not sure what to try on it first to get the most out of it.

I bought a refurb when it was on sale recently and returned it after three weeks. Both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos flat out don't work very well. I wanted to replace my LG C3 42" with a "real" monitor. But I fought with this monitor and the settings daily, whereas the C3 just worked every single time. The AW's screen and colors were darker by default and even when the brightness was turned up to 100% (more heat), it still wasn't as bright as the C3. The colors seemed off or wonky, and yes, even with HDR and Dolby Vision turned off.
I use a Sonos Beam G2 sound bar for audio (eARC) and getting that to work with this monitor, and actually output Dolby Atmos instead of just stereo, was a daily struggle. I did get it to work, eventually, but then it wouldn't the next time I used it.
The effort to get this to work with my set up just wasn't worth it. I also ended up missing the flat screen of the C3, not to mention the extra real estate. When I switched back to the C3, everything just worked, no configuration required and it looked much better too. The only benefit of the AW is the refresh rate, 240 vs. 120, but I could care less. Everything else is better on the C3 and, most importantly, it just works. Oh yeah, and it's frequently less expensive too ($799@Amazon).
I know you have returned it but did you updated to the latest FW? Because they addressed the eARC issue and also Dolby Vision mode selection. I also bought the refund unit recently and so far I'm liking it. Tried to run some Dolby Vision content and the colors are accurate!

Yes, first thing I did. It had a hard time retaining settings, especially the Dolby Atmos. I know some of that is Windows and the hoops they make you jump through to use it, but the C3 just works every time. I don't want to switch speakers or use an HDMI extractor, so I need eARC. It was the best monitor I've ever had, but the C3 still beats it for me.

Thanks for confirming I'm just sticking with my 42" C2 OLED over anything equal or more expensive monitor wise. I may look for a cheap 2K 32" 240Hz just for old FPS games though.

The only benefit having this 32" 1k monitor is 240hz

and better text viewable browsing on desktop. I am making my 32" oled main monitor
if i can find a vesa mount. because this pos didnt come with the adapter.

on the left will be a 42" C3 mounted to the wall and on the right possibly getting another 32" oled. I am getting too old for UW even though its UW the game res compatibility was awful and alot of games are native 4k now because of mostly with console ports. So you are stuck with 2560x1440.

Also reading txt on the 32" is quite nice. I want the 42" on my left for more screen real estate and black levels/ console gaming or using my mister FPGA on it. Having built in speakers is a dam nice feature and saves alot of wiring/plugging in. Also i am sure watching movies from a server such as plex will be superior on the 42" vs the 32"

I do have a 65" C1 and C9 but rarely use them for gaming. mostly for TV/movies /youtube

the alienware 32" though is a superior gaming monitor vs any TV OLED ,even the C4 if you can pull the FPS in games

What adapter are you looking for? I have mine on an ergotron mount and I didn't need to buy any adapter.

This is the best rated gaming monitor there is right now, and this is the lowest all time price so far, not even considering below extra deal potential.

https://www.rtings.com/monitor/re...age/gaming

FYI there is up to 12% cash back for Dell right now. With a cash back or Dell statement CC, and if you can mix in the 10% off Alienware coupon, this is entering super slick territory.

Potential numbers:
Price: $999.99
10% off coupon: -$100
12% cash back: -$108
2% Credit Card cash back: -$18
Credit card statement credit: -$105 or more
Up to 5000 Dell reward points = $50 in Dell dollars

Final price is under $700 after all potential discounts.

edit: F3nixPr0 found a 10% off coupon code that does work for this monitor, great find! Throw him some rep or at least a TU on comment page 7.
Do you still get the 12% CB when you use the 10% off promo code? Small disclaimer says that using a promo not found on the cb site voids the cb apparently 🤷
