Heads up, there is no physical download code and the game is added to the Nintendo account which signs into the Nintendo store on the device first. This makes it difficult, if nearly impossible, to resell the game code to someone else. I gifted this console to a family member who already owned Animal Crossing, and she had a friend set up their Nintendo account on the switch first to redeem the free game, then she deleted the account from the switch and set up her own.

This right here folks -- unless you own the physical CD/Cartridge/Cassette, you don't "own" anything other than a weak-willed promise that "maybe" you "might" be able to rent the game for an extended period of time.
