Meh. The pods are sealed tight, so I'm just not seeing the issue. I store loose pods at home without issues.
Check the review photos and you will see why it's an issue. The box can get contaminated while sitting in warehouses or during transit. I guess it's fine if you are ok with putting in a potentially dirty pod into your coffee maker.

Some have got unlucky, but the majority probably have had no issues. I got the 84 peet deal for $13 and they were completely clean inside the box.
