Amazon should be ashamed of themselves. This is like regular price, nothing special about it. They used to do better deals around Prime Day. What a bust.
wish they sold remote for 5 to 10 bucks
Here are some use case scenarios for a streaming device.

The Hisense h9g used faulty memory that caused the main board to fail if too many writes occured. The best way to prevent this was to disable the internet, not use on board apps and use a streaming device.

For the Samsung s90b, the company apparently sent out firmware updates that lowered the brightness of the TV. So to prevent an update for those who did not receive it, you would keep the TV off the internet, unable to use onboard apps, so you need a third party device.

I have an s90c that I do not want nerfed, so I use a fire stick on it and others on avs forums do the same with other streaming devices. I also have 2 h9gs that I keep off the internet.

I use a streaming device on my ust projector, the on board apps are laggy compared to a streaming device.

Another use case is that Samsung store does not have a larger app library compared to Google or the TV is not able to run certain apps.

I use an onn streaming box on one of my TV's that has Google TV on it. I can run emulators up to Dreamcast with the onn box, my TV is not able to do that.

I am about to try joining a trial of Paramount+ from WITHIN Amazon's Prime Video app to see if that way will work. Currently, P+ is an app I downloaded from Paramount directly and go to it from Firestick's home screen of my installed app shortcuts. When I went through Prime Video to add it I stopped short because I cannot simply login there with my credentials. I can only enlist in a trial (or a purchase of the upgraded version with Showtime and limited ads). I will report back on those results because I can get the 7-day trial for free and cancel it.

UPDATED: That is the problem. Amazon wants to force us to use Prime Video to load Paramount Plus from inside their Prime Video App. Then P+ will work...
Firestick Home Screen>Prime Video App>Search and subscribe to their Paramount Plus Channel. It used to work as an independent downloaded app for us until a few months back.

That won't work for my needs as I already have a login for P+ as an independent app. Why would anyone pay for using it through Prime Video if they already have access?

Q: Why won't Prime Video's version let you log in as you can from the native P+ app?
A: Because AMZ must get a kickback for getting subscriptions through Prime Video.
I am not surprised that the "channel" works. Amz is huge and there would be a big problem for p+ if that didn't work - amz would be fighting for all their customers. Whereas now, p+ only has to deal with people who paid them directly, not a huge class.

I do not subscribe to anything via amz (other than prime). My espn+, p+, max, and sometimes peacock are directly with those companies. I see people have been having the 6000 error for quite some time, so it doesn't seem that p+ has much desire to fix it.
Now one issue I did have for quite a while was p+ crashing at first "reload" once I tried to start a stream (that is the firetv has been powered on for quite some time without a restart and I had been using a different app before opening p+). On its reload, it would work fine. So there was some sort of a memory leak or something, but I haven't had that issue in at least a month.
Sorry to hear that nothing I suggested was successful. Frown

Buy cheaper Walmart Onn will blow you faster.
The one area where the Onn fails is travelling.
Getting the Onn to connect to hotel room WiFi is a hit and miss adventure that the Fire Stick handles flawlessly.

Unless you NEED the amerzon ecosystem, the $20 ONN is verry close in performance of the 4k for $20 everyday. The $50 ONN has everything you would expect from the cube, but more ram and Storage (3gb ram 32gb storage) over the cube too. I need a Amerzon ecosystem and am disapointed to see the cube still is not cheaper this prime day. The 4k MAX is the one to get IF you need Amerzon. Redicules to even offer 8gb storage these days. Maybe a refb 2nd gen cube will pop up for less than the cost of the $50
ONN box.. IDK.. I would not need a Amerzon device if com-crap released their app on the google os.
The $20 ONN sucks for travelling. It can not be setup unless you first set it up on your home WiFi and it has no onboard clock to remember the time and date so connecting to captive portals in hotels or other public places makes you jump through various hoops to get it to connect.
The Fire Stick UI was designed to accommodate captive portals.

It's may only yours. I have not any problem with ONN but all Fire sticks. Fire connection often freezes during the startup when it tries to look for Amazon server to get the account and download their non stop ads.

I recall gen 1 onn boxes had a heat issue efecting bt and wifi. No reports of conectivity issues that I have stumbled on to for the gen 2. I have the newest $20 onn to play with and am ok with it, but I wish I waited for the $50 one just for the storage.

Roumer is a new gargle tv streamer is due. I am sure it will be a bit better than the onn in terms of specs..

I would be interested in a sub $100 device with next gen cpu. 128gb storage, and a device that could dubble as a chrome book on a big tv. Wired ethernet, 4 usb ports and a built in camera. Nothing specific for me.. Not a lot to ask.. just about what a cheap cellphone has.

It's got nothing to do with losing /freezing connection.
When hotels and other places that make you go to a website to enter a password or agree to terms in order to login, the ONN can't handle that. The default browser doesn't support those captive portals and even if you install a browser that does, the ONN has no onboard clock to save the date and time so the network you're trying to connect to will automatically reject you as having out of date security protocols.
