I bought this exact set of lights two years ago (nearly to the day, literally 7/12/22, just looked it up!) for about $2 more (on sale at the time as well) and I've been waiting for them to go back on sale to pick up another strand. These things are fantastic!!!!

We don't use them a ton, probably flip them on once a week, but they've held up absolutely perfectly over 2 years of frying in some pretty solid heat (we're north of 90 for most the summer). In SoCal so typically not a ton of rain but we got near record levels these last 2 years and they haven't so much as flinched.

There's a lot to love about these: ap controlled, solidly built, nice variation in lighting (adjusts from dim to pretty bright), but my very favorite part is the fact that the bulbs are a high quality plastic. I've had to take them down a couple of times and with my old glass bulbs I'd inevitably smash one or two in the process. With these you can be really rough and they're gonna be just fine.

Like I said, just picked up another set so that should give you an idea of my opinion, ha!

Have these and they've been going strong for 4 years.

Just FYI...the plug isn't waterproof. I got a small plastic enclosure for it at Home Depot and works fine.

Your link is wrong FYI. Goes to a IPad Case.
Thanks, sorry, updated the link in the original post (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...F8&psc=1). 30% off discount still seems available to knock the price down to comparable to this

Not to threadcrap as I think if you want an app controlled light, this seems reasonable - i ended up going with "addlon" 50-ft lighting because they were "shatterproof" and "weatherproof" and I didn't need app complexity. a coupon knocked down the price to $20, in the ballpark of this SD.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1
why shatterproof matters here? Both should be kind of plastic and both should be weatherproof. I think the most previous deal discussion is about # of bulbs. This one actually is not a bulb at all but led (do not know how to describe the diff of a led bulb vs the led I am trying to refer to).

Also if I remember it correctly, mine is not wifi but Bluetooth so the app is almost useless. I used a kasa outdoor plug to control on and off.

No, but if you don't have Wi-Fi in the area you want them you are better off getting normal lights.

Anybody know if the light is anygood? I have the worst luck with LED lights and discounts. They always seem to be the worst quality and start flickering after a few months of use.
I did have to replace one of their RGB string lights at one point because it basically just stopped working after a power outage, generally I think Govee is a great brand. It's mostly all they do, is make LED lights.

anyone know if I can just replace the first set to get the smart controls if I already have 3 sets chained together? I'd really rather not have to restring everything.

Are yours in full sun? Being outside and covered vs plastic in full exposure are pretty different. Thanks!!!

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank FlashPilot

They cheaped-out and only provided 15 bulbs over a 50 foot distance. Thats a ridiculous 3.3 feet between bulbs!

I bought some a while ago that had a bulb every 2 feet. Anyone know where I can find a deal on those?

Please read all the 1 star reviews first. Among other things, these are a serious fire hazard.

Agree, 100%. I installed them almost same time last year. No complaints. Lights turn on and off every day. Very great quality.

Just wish they had them in white…my ceiling and soffits on an outside porch is white vinyl and these would probably stand out too much.

Just ordered 2nd set for deck with white roof. Plan on taking out the bulbs (only has 15), covering bulb connectors and spray painting white.
