Avoid. LPDDR5 means the memory is not upgradable at all, and 8GB is not enough for anything more than 2-3 browser tabs.

8gb ram isn't great... but one can do a hell of lot on a PC with that.
You've got some very very difficult to run tabs or perhaps look into switching browsers?
This looks like a pretty good deal for a general use machine, especially for the matte panel (if you like that, which I do)

The issue isn't 8GB. It's that it's non-upgradable at all.

I would not pay over 300 for a windows laptop with 8gb. Then again I wouldn't buy a 8gb windows laptop, period. If you have the amex 105 off 550 offer, you can get the Dell 16" 16gb inspiron for about the same price as this after the amex offer. It also has a much better processor

I have over 20 tabs right now on my 8GB ram laptop. Runs just fine. To your point though, if you are a heavy user, 16GB is a safer bet

And that Inspiron (model 5465) has upgradable RAM. Dell went soldered-only last gen but good to see them reversing course, as Lenovo is also doing with the T14. The Framework effect.
