Yes you do, after 60 days call!
Not after 60 days. Call after Spectrum notify the trade in is accepted.

Why do they need your ss# if you are an existing customer of internet, paying in full for the phone and eligible for a free 12 month line?
They need yout SSN to verify you are the account holder.

$369 for a $1800 last gen phone is a joke. The phone looses 4/5 of its value in a year.
I keep my Fold 5 then.
With Spectrum trade in promotion $1000 + trade in value. The best way is buying (or using) a junk phone for trade in and sell your Fold 5.
I did Fold 5 last year and S24 U this year. In the end up I did not pay any money to upgrade my Fold 4 and S23 U.

Can you explain? Also, did you preorder in store?
I did mine over the phone. Trade in value is $250 and then the promo is they add $700 to that for the Flip 5 for the 6. Net $149.

As for the tax on the amount btwn the $149 and the $1,099. In some states you will be charged tax on the full amount of the phone, even if your net total is the post rebate amount. So ppl in many/most states might purchase a phone on Samsung.com, have a $150 subtotal for example, but still be charged the tax on the $1,099. in NY you are only charged tax on the subtotal, so a $150 phone after rebate would incur about $13.xx. And that's how it usually works on Samsung.com. Spectrum charges you the full amount of the phone when you purchase and then refund you for the trade in values when they receive and okay your phone).

So I paid smthg like $1,195 because they charged the ny tax on the subtotal. $1,099 × 1.0875 tx), (plus activation fee of $30 iirc)

But im reading 2 ppl here mention those taxes will be returned to me. Which makes sense. If the tax law says only post rebate amount is taxed, should be that way whichever the direction of the rebate. So after my trade-in is accepted I should get back the $950 from Spectrum, and according to 2 here, the .0875% tax I paid on the trade in amount, which was around $83. Which would leave me having paid that net total of $163 ish.

I have the S24 ultra 512gb from spectrum, for the fold 6 my out of pocket is $400 total. What junk phone will give the best value for trade in value? Trying to decide if just trading my s24 ultra for fold 6 is best or buying a junk phone for trade in then selling my s24 ultra is better.

So you are telling me with certainty that they don't need that info when you sign up for internet to begin with but they all of a sudden need it now to "verify" my identity and without a credit check?

So if it's a bill credit then this isn't really an option if I'm dropping spectrum Internet in a few months, is it?
Just pay in full and when they credited to your Spectrum account you can ask customer support to transfer it back to the credit card you have in the account for auto-pay.

Looking for a cheap trade in phone suggestion again for this deal. last year i sold my z fold 4 in marketplace and traded in a brand new samsung ao3 purchased for $50 for a $1010 trade in value I believe, came out to be zero out of pocket for me after selling my fold 4. it was little bit of work but worth it for me. getting it unlocked after 60 or 90 days was not a issue for me while some others had problem, I stayed with Spectrum and got 1 year of free service as well. My brother did the same thing with no problem. we paid in full.

I messed around with it at Best Buy the other day and I just can't imagine paying even $1000 for any phone or tablet. $500 is still my max and I don't even like spending that much anymore.

Yep, and not only that you have to use it for 60 days. I bought traded in a cheap phone to get an S24 for $100. My wife tried it out but preferred her Pixel 8 (because of the camera's best face feature).

After 60 days I asked them to unlock it and they said it had only been used for 3 days so they couldn't until it was used for 60. It had been turned off sitting in the box with no sim card in it.
They unlocked all 3 of the s24+ I got and they hadn't been turned off since the day I bought them in store.

I am looking to switch from my iPhone 15 Pro Max to the Fold6. Wanted to get back to Android for a while and try the fold out. This seems like the best deal.

I am on a T-Mobile phone plan which I cannot port my number out. I assume if I pay in full the Fold, I still need to keep the Spectrum Mobile line open for 60 days before I can use my T-mobile number on it? My plan if that is the case is to use my Apple Watch for calls/texts until I can port my Tmobile line to the Fold and cancel my Spectrum Line. Or please let me know if there is a better way. Thanks!

T-Mobile has a feature call "digit". Its an app that can be installed on any phone. That means your new Fold 6 will have Spectrum line and T-Mobile digit line. You can look up T-Mobile digit for more detail. I do this all the time when my new phone is locked to other carrier.
