Can't order this for some reason. Every time I try to check out, it says "cannot ship to your address" and asks me to pick another one. No option for pickup either.

HD and Lowes have this in a 4650w version for about $50 more at regular price. Definitely not a $1300 unit. I got the dual fuel Champion 4650 since I didn't care about the remote start. Love it. Very quiet compared to open frames and runs what I need. Already had to use it a couple of times due to recent storms this year. Well worth the investment.

Why are there not more diesel generators tho. Filling a generator every 13 hours is such a pain.

Great generator. I assume the sales will keep up as they just came out with a 4000 watt inverter generator that's half the weight and size.

Tri fuel is the way...hook up to natural gas line at your house and runs indefinitely

Remote start is a gimmick and no dual fuel is a deal breaker. You don't want to wake up middle of the night to fill the gas tank. That 14 hours run time must only 1/3 or 1/4 load, I guess with 2.3 gallon tank it will last 6 hours under full load. That's why it's cheap. Nobody want a gas only generator.

Are you in Ca? This generator might not meet Ca emissions standards. Same reason why Californians cannot purchase Honda generators anymore.

I have been using a gas generator for the past 11 years. I love the gas generator, when the power is out 😁

For those new to generators, I'll throw this out since you don't see this much….when considering one, sizing appropriately is really key. Especially if using gasoline or smaller propane tanks (in other words not the big in or above ground household ones). These are one of those things that more isn't always better. Typically the bigger you go the faster they go thru fuel even if the use/load is the same. This can be an issue during wide spread outages like after storms. You burn through however much you prepared faster and have to find more sooner which may be scarce or otherwise not easy to get.

The dual fuel version without remote start is $8 more:

I got rid of all my dual fuels. They do not put out as much power as gas and are harder to get fuel in a pinch, unless you're on hardline propane or have a stockpile. I initially got on board due to the simplicity of storage and lack of fouling. I've since found that ethanol free and some Stabil have served just fine in all my gas engines in storage. Also, when the hurricanes pass, I just put any leftover fuel into the cars. While I have a couple suitcase generators for camping, I've finally landed on the Champion 6250 Inverter for the house. It has a 50A out and will last as long as I need before refuel. Whether gas-only or dual fuel, burn time will always be a limitation of a generator unless hardlined.

As for camping, I can carry an empty gas can much easier than a full propane tank and fill it anywhere there's a gas station. I thought I may run my old dual fuels off the trailer on-board tanks, but refilling those tanks can be a pain, and if at a campground, the campground propane is often not bargain prices.

Dual fuel is really only beneficial for a hardlined standby generator, or in that case tri fuel. Otherwise, for regular generator use, it's not nearly as simple or life-changing as people like to say it is. And I forgot to mention having to deal with regulators and hoses for hookup. Just more to carry around in the name of not using gasoline. Everyone can make their own choices, but I went from all dual fuel to all gas-only and have no complaints.
