Because the Apple Ultra is junk, and ugly. Screams girl watch. I have an Iphone 14 pro and S24, and much prefer the S24 and Android over IOS, IOS has been buggy for the past 4 years. This Ultra is exactly what I have been waiting for and the only watch I am willing to replace my Garmin. I got mine for $449 after $100 trade-in (bought cheap $10 smart watch off Amazon), EDU discount, and pre-order discount.

I ordered the Watch 7 44mm trading in my Watch 5 Pro for $24 and got my wife the 40mm for $39 trading in her Watch 5. But I am considering upgrading mine to 7 Ultra since I actually like the orange accents and since the free band is the dark grey it is nice to get orange & grey bands both included. Hmmm...

As a huge Samsung Fanboy who has owned almost every Samsung watch in the past, the new Ultra is super ugly in my opinion. I'm passing this year and hoping for a new Classic Model for the GW8.

You oughta send the Amazon watch back and buy a Watch4 Classic off ebay for $60 to pull price to $310 instead. With EPP/edu + watch4classic + $50 reserve watch is like $279 before tax. So $370ish total vs. $459ish total.

Thumbs up, I traded in a watch 4 and got a 40mm watch 7 for $75 before tax. The code was the clincher. I don't love the color options at all, cream will hopefully be fine, green would have been perfect when I was a camo obsessed 12 years old.

I was set on the Ultra, but found out the only real difference between the Ultra and regular 7 is the Ultra can handle more depth and altitude it looks like. I don't do any deep sea scuba diving or mountain climbing. The 7 has the same internal specs minus the battery size it seems like to the Ultra. Ended up pre-ordering the 7 with the galaxy watch 5 pro trade in, came out to $30 after trade in. Solid trade in deal. Also, I think the Ultra looks a bit chunky, but would definitely consider it if I had bigger wrists, but than again I wouldn't be able to utilize the features. Although, the extended battery life is nice to have.

I did the same. But the ultra just looks too bulky to me. I do like the subtle accent colors on the 7 bands though.

It's not just about utilizing the additional features, it's also about making yourself look like you utilize the additional features and are a more interesting person Wink

Samsung keeps making their releases more standardized each year with little difference between each variant of device. Their 'high end, ultra' stuff used to have have specs or features that actually influenced a consumer to buy them. Now, everything has the same boring specs and internals with cosmetic differences. There was hardly a difference between the s24 plus and s2 ultra last year. Now they made their mid range watches practically instinguishable from the supposed ultra version.
