Tier 1 is definitely worth it if you like difficult platformers.

There's a bit of an ethical issue with giving any money to Team Meat these days, but I don't think 50 cents is going to help them destroy the brand further.

As for Tier 2, the only title I can speak toward is Worms WMD. The series is always great fun, but for whatever reason, the online mode always fizzles out. The fanbase is split amongst at least 3 different games and it doesn't look like Team 17 is trying to bridge the gap.

If Worms WMD won't give you the correct resolution, do a search on changing the text compatibility. There's a bug that gave me fits getting it to go to 1080p resolution. It's an easy change but involves changing text zoom or something like that in the executable file compatibility settings.

I like tier 2 for the Last Stand collection, but that is definitely an acquired taste, it only matches its steam sale price (while including the other games). I ended up getting tier three because I wanted Strike Force Heros, but that also looks like an acquired taste, probably not something most would like.

(Strike Force keys are under $6 now if one doesnt mind using the shadier grey market key sites - Gamvino is one I wont touch since they have added subs to previous purchases I deselected said membership from)

Last stand does not have good controls on the deck, but I believe the rest will run well and have decent controls

The original creator of Super Meat Boy got pushed out of Team Meat, the company that formed around this game.

https://www.gonintendo.com/archiv...t-involved

Team Meat then went on to make a sequel to Super Meat Boy that was critically panned for being a mobile game where the traditional platforming mechanic was replaced with an auto runner.

Had they produced a competent sequel without the original creator, it would be more understandable. Creative differences happen all the time. But as it is, they're just riding on brand recognition.

That is not an ethical issue. The article doesn't say anyone was pushed out. Regardless, everyone involved with SMB will get the same amount of royalties, unless those were bought out when people left the company.
Of course it is.

Or do you also think everything Elon did to PayPal and Tesla was above board too?

You asked what happened, since you somehow couldn't find any details on it. The article clearly includes that the company became difficult to work for, which is not something often said by a founder. Choose to interpret that how you want, but it's right there.

Again, the real slight here is that they went on to produce a bad sequel and any money they receive is supporting that game by proxy.

50 cents is a drop in the ocean, but it wouldn't be conscionable paying the full $14.99 on Steam knowing whatever lightning that was in that bottle is no more.

If you aren't grasping why there's an issue here, that's kind of on you. A very similar thing happened with Disco Elysium and there are plenty of Reddit posts and articles expressing similar sentiments for the company that now owns that game.

I didn't ask what happened, that was someone else.

The article doesn't state/imply that the company became difficult to work with. The implication is that Mr. Refenes found working with Mr. McMillen to be stressful, and that Mr. Refenes is sad about the loss of a partner but is happier now. That is it.

If you have seen Indie Game: The Movie, Mr. Refenes' view is understandable.

The above though, isn't an issue of ethics. There is no indication that anyone has been wronged.

Why bring Mr. Musk and the team behind Disco Elysium into this? That is several logical fallacies.

You are trying to dissuade people from purchasing what you acknowledge is a quality product (Super Meat Boy) because you dislike the sequel. You are seeking to financially harm a company because of normal HR decisions that have no impact on the quality of the particular product or what people can enjoy from it.

People have a right to their good name. Harming that because of the above is detraction, libel, slander, and/or calumny.

Humble Bundle usually notes Steam Deck status for each game
