Sorry about that, I meant laser levels that "emit"? laser lines horizontaly, vertically and ...vertical but on the other axis.

If you want to mark out a single point on the ceiling and the corresponding point directly plumb below it on the floor you want this. The cross level is good for projecting onto the wall to install a cabinet or picture frame exactly level.

Or to put it another way, cross laser level replaces a beam level. 3 dot level replaces a plumb bob
