Slickdeals staff lying to get referral money by ppl clicking on the links. Pretty sad.
LPDDR. Remember you can NOT upgrade the RAM. So until LPCAMM2 becomes more mainstream I would __maybe__ skip it?
Granted only you can judge this.
40% should be fine with only 16GB of RAM for another 2-3 years but they keep adding more and more stuff to the internet ??
Once you run out of RAM, even a 3k fast PC crawls.
MS behind the scenes are also uploading your files to their cloud, so more resource's and more tracking. Already over 700 companies spying on us for the Gov't.
Just watched Switch to Linux or Switched to Linux on YT about this. Thinking of testing Linux Mint on old 8th Gen ? Have 12 Gen laptop now with Windows 11 Pro and thinking of PopOS or Debian 12.6. but I'll probably wuss out until early 2026 on that one.
This seems like a great price though.
Always check CPU-Monkey and NanoReview.net for CPU comparisons. It's not everything but helps. Nanoreview.net look to see if it might have two 2080 NVMe slots or one or maybe different types.
Notebookcheck.net. If they review your actual model, it's a Gold mine of info with a possible picture of it taken apart and you'll see the inside where things go.
I'm confused from where the 1199 original price comes. Website says $749 original price.

40% fine with it in the next 2-3 years? Yes and another 40% fine with it in the next 4-5 years.
40%? Probably closer to 70 or 80. My current laptop only has 12 and honestly runs everything but a couple of games with no problem. The average consumer has no clue ram is. Or how much they need. Or why.
Ok good to know. More info the better.
My newer one came with 32 DDR5 and eventually put in 64GB. I don't game though, everyone is different.
I'm looking for a business Laptop that won't break the bank. Any suggestions?
Well SD is a good start, but you are going to need to provide more info on what you want than a "business laptop". How big of a screen, touchscreen or non touchscreen, battery life, weight, and what apps do you want to run are just some of things that would determine the right laptop for you.
Although I will likely upgrade again in 6 months to a slightly brighter screen, and hdmi 2.1-2.1 port, what made me go with the AMD, is the numpad.
The intel does not have one.
Wow , how do you upgrade in 6 months ?
Do you do some tradein ?
Or just buy a newer one
Does my profile state 'staff' anywhere? Nor do I get a single penny from posting deals for people like you. Better to keep your assumptions to yourself.
The original price comes from this same deal that was posted previously just 2 months ago for a higher price and the original price for that was $1199.99 at that time: https://slickdeals.net/f/17437200-dell-inspiron-16-plus-16-qhd-ips-i7-13620h-16gb-lpddr5-1tb-ssd-674-99?src=SiteSearchV2Algo
If it makes you any happier the listing price has been fixed. Regardless of the listing price, the comments should be on the product and specs for the deal price.
It is a legit question. I wasn't trying to impugn your character nor offend you.
And you answered my question, and for that I thank you. Sounds like the $1199 has been the price on this previously, if I understand your answer.
For simple playback of a pre-recorded setlist, should be fine. If you're wanting a machine to handle live mixing/swapping, I would look for something with much more RAM.

Thank you, that wasn't directed towards you but the clown who commented later on with accusations.
