Edit: this laptop actually comes with a copy of Black Myth: Wukong because of nVidia's current promo (free copy with a purchase of 4070 or higher GPU), which is a game I'm going to buy anyways, so this makes the deal even sweeter.

how do you like it? I ordered the Alienware M16 R2 RTX4070 for $1300 but I think this would be better. Way more portable at nearly half the weight. I'm guessing only 10-20% slower. It's for a 12yo, he won't notice that.
my only concern is I hear it gets very hot. can you confirm if that's a problem? also, does the usb4 port work for data for you? lots of complaints about that. finally, how's the stability of it?
I bought a 2021 ROG13 and it's very unstable. Crashes every few hours and half the time, the AC adaptor doesn't work at all. It's also very loud even in silent mode.
I have had issues so far with slow transfer speeds on USB, but haven't had a chance to troubleshoot yet. May be a driver issue with AMD.
It does get warm, but all gaming laptops do. The aluminum chassis actually acts as part of the heat sink tho, so I am pretty sure it's dissipating the heat well.
It is very light and portable. I've learned to value portability after years of lugging around heavy devices. I really like it.
There may be better performing gaming laptops out there, but I think the G14 is good compromise overall. Build quality is great, OLED screen with VRR gets plenty bright, great HDR. Only complaint is the USB data speeds, I need to figure that out… I'm sure there is a fix.
Haven't had a single crash yet. Seems very stable.
