It sure looks like it has an aluminum grill to me. You would have to remove the grill to get to the speaker.

3010 owner here. I paid this price back in 2018 when these launched and I haven't seen them this low since.

Overall, I've enjoyed the sub for a modestly sized living room 5.1.2 setup. No, it doesn't get super low but that should be obvious to anyone looking to buy one.

The front grille is metal. My toddler and cat have never put as much as a mark on it.

The app has been the nicest feature of the sub. It has a room EQ which seems to work very well, four EQ settings, and app controlled volume, well as all of the other granular normal sub controls. It's pretty simple but very nice to have and makes fine adjustments from the seating locations very easy.

Could you tell me which app you use to control your sub? I just got the 3010 and there's like 4 different ELAC eq apps on the iOS app store but none of them seem to detect my sub.

The one I use is Elac Sub Control 2.0

I have an Elac setup. Returned the sub and bought the RSL Speedwoofer. Much better.
