The $169 price did not include AppleCare+ so it's the same as $199

I had the AirPods Pro Gen1 bought back in Dec2020, and they went out in June2024 ( right ear static). I went to Apple Store and tried the whole teasting thing. Long story short, I was on the AirPods being remote everyday since I bought it for about 7-9hrs daily on weekdays and they lasted me 3+ years without Apple care. So no need to spend money on Apple care. Get the cheaper price point is what the thesis of the story is….

I got mine around same time and have the same issue with right ear bud with static also
