Nespresso is different from a regular espresso machine because they're specific pods carefully designed by Nespresso to achieve a certain flavor profile (and they're very good). A google search will show that the ideal pressure for brewing a shot of espresso is between 7-11 bar, however this is a very subjective topic and why espresso/coffee is so fun and versatile. Also having a 20bar machine doesn't mean you'll always be brewing at 20 bars of pressure. I just means the pump is capable of producing that amount of pressure. You can adjust with grind size and tamp pressure to play around with extraction to find what you like. There's really no right way to brew espresso, only the way you like it.

Figured I'd go through the reviews at Best buy since there's a lot of speculation on here. So it seems like there were some faulty units out of the box which people could have just returned but left one star reviews anyway. And then there's some other reviews that seem mostly like user error. And then there's an overwhelming majority of excellent reviews for the unit. including one that says you can use many styles of coffee, I can't speak to the truth of that you can buy espresso ground if buying a $200 grinder is a deal breaker for you. another customer compares it to his much more expensive breville machine and says it's just as good. also another customer says that he is drinking coffee daily of all types for basically his entire life and he finds this unit to produce a great quality brew.

personally I don't mind taking a chance for 30 bucks.

they even throw in two months of a cooking streaming service for free lol.

Are you suggesting 20 bars is a lot of pressure or a little pressure?

Couldn't find a single video review of this unit, but a suspiciously similar looking Farberware machine had a video. Bought it anyways

I don't know if this is the same brand as was a similar deal two months ago, but I picked up one for $30 that my wife just loves. She says the coffee comes out tasty enough to not require sweetener

Nespresso is 19 bars for their original line.
8 or 9 mentioned above is a joke, probably Mr. Coffee machines.

I love my moka pot. I have talked myself out of buying one of these many times. Hard to pass at this price.
Your moka pot espresso is 100x better than anything this machine can ever make.

To anyone buying this, adjust your expectations. Also note that you need a special grinder to get good results from any espresso machine. A cheap blade grinder won't work, you need a good burr grinder that goes fine enough. Most of these are $200+.

I just want people to have realistic expectations and not be disappointed!

yes, i have a swiss made original nespresso machine and it has 19 bars.

just ordered the breville touch on the frontpage the other day which looks strikingly similar to this $30 machine lol. did i pay too much?

btw, the $200 beanz rebate on the breville page is expired, so i chatted with amazon and they are gonna refund me $200 when it delivers. pretty slick deal but still way more than this bella machine lol.

$30 for a week of espresso at most is not smart. Quality is atrocious and will break before long. Caveat emptor.
$30 is literally less money than you'd spend in a week at {popular coffee chain} 😉
