The surge protection is probably 0 at this point. It goes down over time.

Bought 3 of these recently after 2 battery backups died (and the battery backup wasn't really needed). These are nice, but I've found some of the outlets are still spaced too closely together for certain types of plugs (if you have a wall wart, even if you use the side-plugs, the height of the wallwart will interfere with the 2 AC plugs in front of it. Not the case with all, but I have 2 wall plugs that interfere)

With that said, all have been working great, no issues. There are 2 versions and all I can tell from the difference are the coax and phone protectors on the end.. I have both versions and prefer the "new" version without, since these aren't really useful to me.

It can be wall-mounted, but the slot for screws is a bit too small for any I had, so you might need to use nails. The dark plastic piece at the bottom of the surge protector does come off easily if you want to remove it.

found this on the Belkin website:

The Protected light indicates that your surge protector is functioning correctly and is providing protection to the devices you have connected to it.

This light should remain ON as long as the surge protector is plugged into an outlet and is turned ON. If this light goes out at any time, it means that your surge protector has served its purpose on protecting your equipment against damaging voltage fluctuations, surges, or spikes. If this happens, your surge protector should be replaced.

1. If the protected indicator light is OFF, it may still function as a power tap but will no longer provide surge protection. This can lead to damage of your equipment once your surge protector encounters another power surge.

Sounds simple enough, are there items that shouldn't be plugged into this along with the computer? I haven't used a UPS before, so I'm assuming there's limitations.

Also assuming I can't place this on carpet? 🥴 Really appreciate you clearing all this up for me by the way.
Well, you don't want to overload the UPS... laser printers are a no-no especially on the battery back-up ports because they can demand a lot of power.

Not sure about carpet. Might depend on the UPS... personally I'd try to avoid it if possible. I don't have any of mine directly on carpet.

I had no idea on the laser printer issue, thanks for the heads up.

And I had a feeling on the carpet, what about the monitor and speakers?

I'm still rocking two Kensington Masterpiece Plus purchased from CompUSA back in the late 90s for my main PC and multiple devices. Wish it is still being made. A very convenient desktop surge protector.

My monitor and speakers are plugged into my UPS. You just need to make sure the total wattage of all your devices won't except the max battery backup wattage rating of the UPS. Also, you should get more battery time if you can keep the load/wattage lower. You should also replace the UPS battery every 3 to 5 years because they degrade over time like your typical lead acid car battery.

I'll assume my 4070 ti super is a real power sucker? Can I still squeeze in a modem and router?

Yep! Graphics cards and CPUs can suck a lot of power... but modems and routers should use much less. You'll just have to do the math on the wattages. The CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD should be able to handle up to 1000 watts but I would try to keep it at 900 or below.

Not really a matter of being worried, more so being proactive.
Some say proactive. Some say paranoid. If you're replacing your power strips every 5 years you're definitely wasting money.

Is that good or not so much?
400v is merely acceptable, 330v is ideal and desirable.

lost a $150 apple tv to a surge recently. it was plugged into a comparable APC brand surge protector that was 4-5 years old. i'm working through their equipment replacement process now, but the protector never tripped or indicated anything wrong, the apple tv and my cable modem just both died the same day during a storm.

after a bit of research I learned the MOV components inside these that "suck up" surges wear out over time and my protector had probably had enough. I'm going to try to get these every 3 years now, so this belkin is ordered!

Surge can come through low voltage signals like HDMI, Ethernet and coax.
