Much better deal on original pods, since they are off patent and can be made by anyone

We got this same machine and frother for a little less a few years ago from Macy's. Sold the frother for $50, since we don't use that much, so the machine was somewhere around $55. Have had no issues with the machine and the coffee is really good.

We tried the refillable pods kit (gut out a used pod and reseal it with new coffee) and that was ok (with espresso) and we also have a refillable reusable pod (twist top) and that was a little less ok. However these seemed to have caused the machine to indicate it needed descaling sooner than usual. We've been using normal pods for a while now after getting them through a few deals from here and everything has been working perfectly.

these pods NEVER go on sale, and if they do you have to buy 12 packs at a time to get something free

vertuo pods never go on sale. Woot has been the only place with good deals, but it is rare. Any other time of sale is buy 12 packs to get 1 free. Even in store retailers don't put this on sale.

Thanks, I'll wait for a deal on an original machine then. I have a Breville Barista Express, but it seems the grinder and water amount have different moods on the daily.

I have both old and new machine. They both have their benefits. you can make an awesome full cup of coffee with the new pods. they both make great espresso. for this price just buy it and try it.

That's not true. I constantly buy deals from woot and Amazon for 30 - 60 packs. I pay about. 50 cents per pod.

Even then, on Amazon, you can buy the reusable metal pod and put your own coffee in it. I do it all the time.

The machine has been great and at this price it's definitely slick.
