This is not really a great price for Zipair.

October/November is the shoulder season and $650 should be about the average price.

Jan/Feb is definitely the off season (excluding chinese new year) and prices have historically been around $450 on zipair.

As a reference point, zip air offered these flights during parts of last year for $4xx during low season.

Singapore Air had a deal last month for Jan - Mar '25 for $7xx - some dates were still $7xx when I checked last week. I got a January '25 flight for $726 (plus $20/one way seat selection) - this includes 1 carry-on, 2 check-in (1 will be used for a bike at no add'l charge) plus meals.

Thanks for that deal - and all your other travel deals!

Guess that deal is expensive for those who typically fly with zip air. Thing is with Japan, you always buy so much cool stuff, especially now with current exchange rate, that the check-in round trip luggage cost of $140 with zip air kinda kills their deals, unless it goes back to $4xx.

Thanks for the reference price points.

I usually visit June/July for around $850.
Scored a $550 tix in Jan 2023 for $550, and was ecstatic.

Fam is planning on a Xmas trip thru New year and I gotta see if prices are favorable.

The YEN IS currently!

Yeah. Those are the previous price and I took advantage of them. I saw a notice last year that the prices were shooting up for Zipair because of the higher fuel surcharge or something like that so I expected this new low price point to be higher now. Maybe we'll see a price around the $500+ but I don't expect to see those $450 prices again. I already booked my flight with Singapore Airlines and I think that's a much better price now than this when you factor in two check in bags and being able to have more on your carry on weight. 2019 had a Singapore airlines deal around $670 but $742 on the recent deal sounds about right when factoring inflation 5 years post covid. In my opinion, this Zipair deal is great if you will travel solo.

Thanks for this data point. That's what I thought too. I used zip air last year and it was cheap but I forgot how cheap! Inflation? Or wait some more

All the regular airlines that I've looked at, charge much for for non-infant pricing (2yo+). We unfortunately missed out on a year of that bc of covid.
