This is goop for flare fittings. Kinda like locktite for refrigerant lines. You don't need it. This is what you use to ensure you don't leak at the flare in a 600+lb system.

Is this necessary if recharging your car's ac with r410a? Those recharge kits do not mention anything about a sealant.

This also acts as lubrication for the o-rings during install. O-rings can bind and be partially crimped instead of sliding into the fitting.

This may be a stupid question but can this be used when replacing an iPhone battery to reseal a gasket or is that an entirely different thing? Thanks
