how "universal" are these? I have a sun joe and an ancient karcher pressure washer neither of which have a quick connect on the nozzle tip that I remember:

Sun Joe SPX4003-ULT

Universal usually means quick connect. If you don't have quick connect, you will need an adapter. I got an adapter for my Karcher to a quick connect.

I checked the sun joe manual and it looks like the attachments they use are some kind of twist lock

Seems like a pretty normal price to me. Ryobi one goes for a few bucks more via home depot

I have the bigger brother (15") by same manufacturer that I use with a 3200 PSI pressure washer, and it's been fine for about 3 seasons now (I use it only once-twice a year, but when I do, I do a large area). That one works well for me once you get the hang of it (cuts my work into about 1/4 of the time, but I still have to go back without it to do corners and hard to reach edges).

That said, this one is only 2000 psi max, so I don't know how good that would be. If you do this often, I'd start by upgrading the pressure washer first.

I did some research and it appears sun joe SPX washers have a 1/4" quick connect so going to order and hope it works.

I bought one of these to powerwash my driveway. I'd say it does good if you do it 1-2 times a year. If you wait a few years since the last time you did it, the grime built up needs more detailed pressure washer work (using lower spread attachments on regular pressure washer). Once you get that out of the way the first time, this is good for more regular cleaning.

There seem to be a bunch of prime day "deals" on surface cleaners. Unclear which ones are good though.

Agreed. They work as intended, but I find myself struggling to push it around

I was interested in this until I saw the flow rate - my pressure washer has a flow rate of 1.58 Gallons per Minute (Sun Joe SPX1050) which is over the stated rate for this unit (1.3GpM). Kind of weird since the sunjoe has a 1500 Pounds per Square Inch where this one says it's fine to 2000. If anyone has used this before though I would love to know it works - this would be great for cleaning my patio.

Wrong. These are designed to clean a surface like cement and the bristles are designed to support that function.

If you're having trouble pushing it around, you're probably not pushing it at a low enough angle. Put your wand closer to the ground and it won't exactly float over the surface, but it should move much more easily and it'll enable it to do its job.

That said - anybody considering this should probably buy a somewhat bigger pressure washer and get the 15" model. I have a higher GPM electric pressure washer and this makes surface cleaning *SO* much easier.
