Dunno, but it's so oily that I only tried it once. May as well have just poured mineral oil all over my legs and hoped I was too greased up to bite.

Always been curious about the 'essential oils' based repellents. At this price, worth a shot. If it's effective, Costco carries a triple pack (Murphy's) seasonally.

As per studies, (the well designed ones) only soybean oil and and lemon eucalyptus oil were somewhat effective. the other oils have not shown consistent results. Nothing plant oil based works as well as DEET or picardin as far studies show.

I got one of these last year for hiking, they work okay but they don't last as long as picaridin or deet. My ballpark guess is about 3-4 hours. I didn't get any bites in places that I spray myself but the bugs still landed on me to survey their meal.

I wouldn't buy it again since they're really oily, sticky when you start to sweat and overwhelming odor.
