Not sure activating is worth the $100 in savings. Will have to pay an activation fee, have a credit pull, and then deal with the hassle of actually getting it cancelled.

This phone is wayyyy too good to only be 300$ even if it's the non 16GB variant.

It has a snapdragon 8 gen 2, which is very comparable to the latest and greatest snapdragon 8 gen 3 in the s24 ultra. They are similar except the gen 3 is much better at AI tasks

Really good display too, and oxygen OS is not bad at all.

Just the cameras are kinda meh, not great.

Other than the camera this phone is comparable to the pixel 8, and s24. And for only 300$ it's not even close which one is the better option

Is this the phone that the 256 model has 16gb RAM. Might be worth it for the extra $100

edit: it is.

That's good too, for those who like the s23 better, but the 12R is still good option

Agree. Using it now.
Awesome, unless a good iPhone prepaid deal comes, I'll definitely be jumping from my iPhone 12 to the 12R

From a pure specs perspective, the op12r is better. Bigger screen, higher resolution, faster charging, better cameras, 16gb vs 8gb ram on the 256gb models

That said if you are already in the Samsung eco system the 23+ would probably be more convenient, especially if you have or plan to buy other Samsung hw like their buds, watch, ring, etc.

To Samsung's credit I will say what keeps me in their eco system is after the first purchase of any hardware, their upgrade paths are generally very reasonable. E.g. the recent watch 7 can be had for $40 or less if upgrading from a recent model galaxy watch.

OnePlus makes solid hardware though and they seem to have the fastest charging tech, albeit proprietary to get full 100w charging. (Proprietary charger + cable, but can still do PD charging with standard equipment, just not at 100w)

You have to hit the "We'll help you connect this phone to a carrier" button. And yes, all new phones on Verizon get hit with the $35 fee.

The camera is paramount to me, but don't mind a second tier CPU. Pixel phones all the way.

I'd probably be sold if the 256gb model was available at this price. Photos and videos take up too much space these days.

I'm familiar with the brand, but don't have experience with their phones. I remember LTT videos saying they're nice, but develop software gremlins over time that are probably mostly just annoyances, but not always dealbreakers. I say this as someone who's been on flagship Motorola phones for just under 10 years now.

This basically feels like a Moto edge in the hand, or older Samsung like S8-10. Never had issues with oxygen when I opened the OP7P or OP8.

I've had pixels for a while now and currently using a pixel 6 pro. I have a lot of network connection issues and the hardware is just okay. I just ordered the 256gb/16gb OnePlus 12r from OnePlus for 430 instead of the pixel 8 pro that would have been much cheaper for me. I don't think Google has fixed the connection issues and the AI is not that useful for me. I think the 12r is going to show me what I've been missing.
