Not sure activating is worth the $100 in savings. Will have to pay an activation fee, have a credit pull, and then deal with the hassle of actually getting it cancelled.

This phone is wayyyy too good to only be 300$ even if it's the non 16GB variant.

It has a snapdragon 8 gen 2, which is very comparable to the latest and greatest snapdragon 8 gen 3 in the s24 ultra. They are similar except the gen 3 is much better at AI tasks

Really good display too, and oxygen OS is not bad at all.

Just the cameras are kinda meh, not great.

Other than the camera this phone is comparable to the pixel 8, and s24. And for only 300$ it's not even close which one is the better option

Is this the phone that the 256 model has 16gb RAM. Might be worth it for the extra $100

edit: it is.

I've had pixels for a while now and currently using a pixel 6 pro. I have a lot of network connection issues and the hardware is just okay. I just ordered the 256gb/16gb OnePlus 12r from OnePlus for 430 instead of the pixel 8 pro that would have been much cheaper for me. I don't think Google has fixed the connection issues and the AI is not that useful for me. I think the 12r is going to show me what I've been missing.
The 6 series pixels had connection issue due to the radio antenna that was used in the phone. I believe it was a Samsung built communication chip instead of the Qualcomm built chip. I haven't had issues with connectivity on both my 7 and 7a

Misleading, it's not truly unlocked if you have to activate service with a specific carrier to get a discounted price on the phone.

I use Mint (T-Mobile), can I buy the unlocked AT&T version and use it with T-Mobile?
..... If not, why?

I trade in pixel 7 pro for 12R. Much better in my opinion. At least I can cast my phone to any smart TV.

Sorry but this isn't a deal if I have to waste time with a carrier in any way. As previously mentioned the 16/256 for $377 is a decent deal. It was better a few months ago for sure, especially with the free buds 3 but it's still not bad now. https://imgur.com/a/Z3jSibf

I'd probably be sold if the 256gb model was available at this price. Photos and videos take up too much space these days.

I'm familiar with the brand, but don't have experience with their phones. I remember LTT videos saying they're nice, but develop software gremlins over time that are probably mostly just annoyances, but not always dealbreakers. I say this as someone who's been on flagship Motorola phones for just under 10 years now.
I bought myself a Nord N200 back in 2021 and now realize 64mb of memory is not enough considering how gigantic video files are. You really need 128gb at the bare minimum and preferably a phone with a SD card slot which this 12R phone doesn't have. This still a great deal though compared to what you pay for a Google Pixel or flagship Samsung phone.

Time to upgrade from my 6T?

Does this model still have the screen off controls (ex: the flashlight, draw a "V" on the screen)? I use that every night and cannot imagine a phone without it.

Thank you!
I just switched from 6T to the 12 (not 12R) and like it. Battery alone is superb! And yes, the screen gestures the 6T had are also present in the newer OS the 12 has. Only thing I am not a fan of so far are the curved screen edges.

I have this phone and an S23 Ultra and I find myself using this more because of the light weight. I much prefer this when I'm exercising at night because I can one hand it. I cannot stress to everyone enough how powerful this phone is for the price it's a very good phone. Just the screen quality alone is way above what you can expect to get in a phone for this price. It doesn't have a bunch of brand specific bloatware and crap it's just a pure Android experience. To the point where I actually removed my launcher. It charges so fast I didn't even know that was possible it charges even faster than the specs they give for it. You can plug it in for 5 minutes and get enough of a charged to use for the day. My phone charges in around 10 minutes from the 20 to 30% range to full. The only problem I've had with it at all is when I used Nova launcher it would occasionally get notification sound loops.

Absolutely I returned the seven pro because of the yellow dingy dirty look to the screen. I returned the 7 Pro after a week I hated that phone.

While this is a great price for a flagship phone some don't like the curved the screen. This is a fairly heavy phone at 7.3 ounces unless you compare it to the S23 Ultra and S24 Ultra which weight over 8 ounces. I guess you don't consider this OnePlus phone to be too bulky and heavy?

Good deal, no Esim support for the U.S version killed it for me.
