This iPad Pro 4th Generation, if you need a powerful iPad that has pretty much all the bells and whistles you need and will last a long time
or
iPad 10th Generation, if you just need a basic iPad for web browsing, media consumption, bringing on a plane, etc.
(honorable mention to the iPad mini 6th gen but the price is still way to high, it needs to be regularly on sale closer to $350 or less for it to be a solid recommendation).
For the asking price, even on sale, the iPad Airs really don't make any sense with their old crappy 60hz refresh rates and lack of any meaningful differentiating features. The 10th gen can do everything the air can do, just a tiny bit slower. You'll barely notice the lack of laminated screen either unless you are an artist using the Apple Pencil a lot. When you step up to the Pro, as some people have stated, you get the 120hz display, better speakers, a great processor that will last years to come, thunderbolt, and face ID, just to name a few things. Don't waste your money on the 5th gen pro unless you really need an OLED panel, but you're going to pay a huge premium for that luxury.

Thinking about it now, If I could get the pro for the same price I would bite. Or if it was open box for <$500
