Isn't the 7800X3D a better processor for gaming than the 14700F?

The link you shared are reference to all benchmarks. In gaming, single thread speed and latency are much better, which is why I was referring strictly for gaming. I think overall, the 14700F is better processor, but if strictly speaking gaming, I think the 7800X3D is better.

I will defer to someone with more technical knowledge in this matter though

Better on benchmarks but the recent news and stories about the 13th and 14th gen Intel processors are worrisome.

I assume this is a better deal than the 1000 dollar G518 from micro center?

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D 3.4GHz Processor; NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 8GB GDDR6; 32GB DDR4-3200 RAM; 1TB Solid State Drive

I assume this best buy one is a better deal due to newer cpu, more ram, etc. But is it worth the extra 500?

I am also concerned since I heard cyber power is not reliable.

If you look on the page I linked, you'll see one of the scores is literally "Gaming". The 14700F gets 130%, the Ryzen gets 117%.

It's better for everything, it's better for gaming. It's all there on the link I sent you.
Definitely true but, as with most things, there are exceptions to the rule/average. Ryzen generally underperforms compared to the Intel chips, and in this case substantially for CPU intensive computes based on the intel having 12 low-power cores in addition to 8 standard cores (the Ryzen only has 8 full cores). The difference is in games which benefit from L3 Cache - often games with lots of textures. The Ryzen has 96MB of L3 cache vs 33MB for the 14700. The addition fast access means better FPS performance in stuff like MS Flight Simulator, but for the most part it just makes up for the lower core count. Will it matter for you?

Depending on your care for power usage and your cooling system, the 7800x3D is likely to have better performance per watt and far less total power consumption under maximum load as well as real world usage. The 7800x3D is a 120W nominal chip vs the 14700 at 125W BUT the max power on a 7800x3D is around (quick google) 160-165W and the 14700 will ramp up to 250-280(?)W. If you believe reviews like this one [trustedreviews.com] you'll use 50W less at idle and almost 150W less at gaming load (with nominally equivalent setups). Do you care about 150W extra for peak performance? It's not as if 25-40cents/hr at peak output is going to make or break someone buying a $1500 computer, but it is what it is. For those who are power conscious, or just don't want a supplemental room heater, here's a sampling of real-life data from TechPowerUp on this exact comparison in several games: https://tpucdn.com/review/intel-c...800x3d.png

The ti super is about 10% better than the 4070. If all other specs are the same then technically it's a slightly better PC as long as it can be cooled right. This CPU is excellent, you're more likely to experience a CPU bottleneck if you have a good GPU and not great CPU. This is a powerful combo IMO. Upper mid level
Thank you!! I got the Amazon deal.

Userbenchmark is incredibly biased towards AMD for some reason. The 7800X3D is the best gaming CPU money can buy.

Should I get this or the Prime day deal with the 4070 ti super for $200 more?
The Ti is always $200 more, but yeah the 16Gb of Vram can't hurt for UE5 games. Wink
