Other bad reviews were about food sticking to pan and discoloration. Don't get stainless pans if you want non-stick obviously, and discoloration happens to all stainless pans. Use barkeepers friend to clean them up if you care.

the bottom is a combination of aluminum alloy and some other metal so this is not true stainless steel

thats how all tri ply clad is made, outer layers are stainless steel, with an inner core to distribute heat
