As for the plastic lids break.....yes they were dropped, but only 1-2 feet. I am more complaining about replacement parts costing $20 for something that is obviously made of cheap plastic. $5 would fit the bill for what they are.
Whoa whoa whoa - preheating the carafe with your hottest tap water will absolutely NOT increase the initial temperature of the coffee, unless your brewer is massively malfunctioning and brewing at a temperature lower than your hottest tap water temp. It will slow the cooling process, though.
Our room temperature varies between 64F and 80F, and I'm not too fancy to microwave cold coffee, or to use Fahrenheit.
But again - in the end, the Mochamaster's pot will hold your coffee at a really good temperature for a long time.

I have also had to replace several of the plastic basket lids and a reservoir lid at $20 each. It's really gouging for what's less than a quarter worth of plastic.
Metal and glass would only mean more shipping and material cost. In terms of repair potential....it really wouldn't change a thing. Apart from the reservoir, the parts are simple swap outs and like I mentioned b4 they charge $100 for reservoir replacement.

Did you carbon freeze it before dropping it?
