Just picked this up and I love it for the price. Very nice build quality and fast. Gotta say touch screen is a game changer for me as it eliminates the need for a mouse. Wife just got the lenovo slim 7 deal for a couple hundy more - I feel this is about same build quality, but touch/tablet ability makes it better. Hers is maybe a millimeter thinner. Doing all the setup & downloads has batt down to 63% from 89% after ~ 2 hours. Been waiting months for a thinkpad deal, but not regretting this at all. Probably should have got my daughter this vs the m3 mac air deal...

It is buried. On the product page > From the manufacturer > datasheet:

Display

• 14-inch diagonal, WUXGA (1920 x 1200), multitouch-enabled, IPS, edge-to-edge glass,
micro-edge, Corning® Gorilla® Glass NBT™, 300 nits, 62.5% sRGB(20)(35)

• AMD FreeSync™(45)

Also note the datasheet says this is an IR camera so it should support face recognition for windows hello.

Are these Envy ones built better than Dell inspiron one (Aluminimum case). I am thinking about getting 16" inspiron which comes with Ryzen 7 8860 for $400.
Dell, just like Hp, have different levels of build quality. 7 series > 5 series > 3 series. Look at the first number of the model numbered. I would say Envy is equivalent to 5 series but it doesn't mean they are exactly equal. Spectre is about 7 series level.

Thanks for the info. It is a 5 series latest model comes with Ryzen 7.

Funny bc this was my exact dilemma. This vs the M3 for child. Went with this, we'll see.

I am looking for a laptop for my daughter. She will be a first year college student, majoring in Computer Science. Is it a good laptop for her? If not, is the Ryzen 7+1TB upgrade (for $200 more) good enough? Thanks.

Should I pull a trigger on this or wait for the next gen Ryzen with higher Ai processing power?

Why can't they make this with a 15.6 inch or 16 inch screen and 32GB of RAM?

I picked this up two weeks ago when it was posted here for the same price. I'm happy with the laptop. Perfect size for my needs. I can do basic stuff and that's all I need it for.

Switching from laptop mode to tablet works just like it should. It seems to be built well so hopefully the hinges last awhile.

I bought this for my soon to be college junior. She's very happy with it, especially the size for lugging it around all day…

How does this compare to the Lenovo Yoga 7i? (https://slickdeals.net/f/17622333-lenovo-yoga-7i-laptop-14-fhd-touch-intel-ultra-5-125u-16gb-ddr5-512gb-ssd-599-99)

Seems like a similar machine at a similar price point. Main difference is AMD vs Intel. How do the build qualities compare?

Well, I just received mine. I bought an Open Box - Excellent Condition model and it does not work straight out of the box. It is hung up on looking for a network connection and there's no way to advance through the screen. I tried bypassing it through a Command Prompt and when it popped up, the keyboard wouldn't work. So, this is going back. Currently sitting here debating about whether or not I want to buy another one before it goes off sale.
