This is the same outfit that let me order a new one for $100 months ago (along with the $35 plan), and then sat on the order for weeks before saying they were sold out.

I see deals like this pop up occasionally and just want to make sure I am understanding things correctly. To take advantage of this deal, you would sign up for a new line with Straight Talk and get the phone for $74. You would have to have it active for one month, which would be $35. You would cancel before the month is over, so total out of pocket would be around $110-$120.

You would then have an unactivated phone that could be used on wifi (like a mini iPad). After 60 days, the phone would become unlocked so it could be used on another carrier? Am I missing any details here? For us, the use case would be to have an unactivated phone for our child to use (for things like FaceTime and YouTube) when connected to wifi.

no these iphones automatic unlock at 60 days with 1 month service on verizon. if get lucky it will come unlocked if previously activated.

Here we go again. With the Pixel launch even coming up in a few weeks, the trade in allowance is bound to be inflated on these. This happened 2 years ago (unfortunately last year was no decent deals) but I was able to trade an iPhone SE straight out of a new box for $300 off the new pixel. I didnt even wait for it to unlock.
My OTD cost was $116 and trade-ins are bound to be high that that.


Also forgot to add, Cash back site is kicking in 4%, I used my Robinhood card, so there is 3% cash back, and I set up a virtual card that will expire so the autobill does not go thru next month.

Ill also leave a note about the phone, these work great as a "Work Phone". My current employer is far too cheap to actually buy me a new phone, so I'm using one of these Straight talk burners now and it does everything I need for work. Very convenient, cheap and works great. Still does great pictures, handles Microsoft Teams, and Outlook tasks. It does not feel laggy at all and will receive updates for several years still. If anything, the screen is just a tiny bit smaller than I care for.

Yes after 2 months its unlocked

because ISO still works fine on this device. I daily use one of these. Heck it still runs the Newest COD Warzone, just as good as my Pixel 8.
