I was going to jump on this when I saw "Cast Iron Cart" in the title thinking it included the rolling cart and it would be a no brainer to buy this just to get the cart for my Jr. I got from last year's Walmart deal Smilie "Stand" is in the description but I didn't get that far before clicking on the amazon link.

I was thinking of the Cart [amazon.com]

This is mainly for a smoker, right? I literally just ordered a Weber Natural gas grill last week.

Debating buying this to have a separate smoker.

It depends on your need. If you usually do a larger cooks then I would say the Akorn is better suited for you. I already have the Akorn plus 24" grills, so the Jr. was ideal when I am only doing a small cook.

This is completely different from a gas grill! It's fueled by briquets and holds its temp very well hence the smoker. Can also be used to sear at high temps like your standard weber kettle. I'd like to say this is a hybrid a mix of both in one. I've been in the market for a few months and this is the best deal I've seen on this Joe Jr. brand new. I ordered mines already 😎 I say if you got the extra cash to spend pull the trigger now! Lol

This is the lowest price in recent months. The lowest price that I know of was last Aug and short lived in Oct for $194 from Walmart. Aug 2023 SD Post

13.5 inch is too small for a brisket right? Good deal but may be a deal breaker.

I've seen videos of briskets being cooked on this size. He had to put something under the middle to make it fit.

You want to use lump coal, not briquettes.

Jealous Devil briquettes have been a game changer for me. More consistent temps on my Akorn and very clean burning.
