Great price. 40V batteries are a dime a dozen (third party) and should make for a good light duty/small yard mower.

In for one.

That will get you 1/3 an acre on turbo and maybe a half acre on the best day of its life.

I see a Greenworks 80v self propelled for $419. With 4ah battery. Thoughts on that one? For a small yard, worth it or is the 40 V version sufficient? Or should I try and find ego deal or hold out ?

id say that is the best deal, the 80v self 4ah. I have never seen that combo below $400. Its always a good choice to go with the 80v line, as the 40v and 60v are sold exclusively at one big box store each.

The other option is the 24+24 line. But all greenworks mowers are the same power output, they are not like power tools. The difference in voltage does drastically increase run time. So the 80v line can hold 2-3x the run time of the 40v line, just due to battery size.

Do you have any recommendations on third party batteries - I am looking for 24 v 5 amp for my lawn mower. I checked on Amazon but low ratings

Please enlighten us. Battery woes are the reason I'm considering dumping this thing after 3 years. Have 2x2.5 amp and 1x4a batteries and still frequently get stuck having to finish last 20% next day (after batteries cool then charge). Tried a generic 6a, it died after 3 uses (right after return window).
