Usually the knock is that 365 subs through Amazon lock you into "management" by Amazon. So you can't go out and buy one from Newegg and stack it.

I bought one. Already had a Microsoft 365 Family subscription in my Amazon account from last year that has not expired yet (and it would auto renew). Instead of stacking the new one shows up separately and says activate subscription. I redeemed the key in my Microsoft account. Waiting to see if Amazon merges the two together.

EDIT: It stacked on an existing subscription that was already managed by Amazon, expiration was extended another 12 months. Took 10-15 minutes to be updated after activating.

They'll probably have it provided by the college included with their fees. If not, the educational version of this service would likely be cheaper. Regardless, it's worth checking with the IT department(s) at your kids' school(s).

Say I have a regular 365 Family sub with Microsoft Can I add this code to that account and NOT have it managed by Besos ?

Be sure you are logged into your microsoft account on your web browser, then click activate from the eamil Amazon sent you, or from the "manage subscriptions " page on amazon. If you dont click activate, it wont work.

Oh that explains it. Let me check. Thanks!

Edit - That worked. Thanks!

Family is 6gb total. 1gb each. You can combine account storage by creating dummy accounts and sharing a folder
Think you got your B's backwards there. 1TB each for up to 6 people(you + 5 others).

My data is encrypted, so not worried about prying eyes, which they won't do without your consent. It's a fireable offense...

Enjoy!

Oh yeah, I mean 6TB total , 1TB each member.

If you are using Onedrive with Windows it uploads data unencrypted. I use Bitlocker on my drive. But when I access Onedrive from a browser, its not Bitlocker encrypted

Yea, I don't use OneDrive like that, it wreaks havoc on PC's IMO unless in a work environment. I only use for my NAS backups which are encrypted.

I messed up my Microsoft 365 subscription by stacking a year subscription bought on Amazon. Now I can only manage it through Amazon at full price. I think Microsoft and Amazon both benefit from this arrangement.

Looking at other posts it seems possible to stack. I have to explore more. It used to be simple earlier when activation is done on Microsoft site

Office 365 includes Microsoft Defender, which is premium to Windows Security that comes with Windows. Not to be confused with Defender from years ago which became Windows Security. It has VPN and dark web scanning but requires a separate download from the App Store.

Good deal but at the same time eff Microsoft and their subscription based services. I want to pay once and install it on my computer. Maybe I'm in the minority on this?

If the school is Google Suite based, I wouldn't count on it. Additionally, this is still cheaper than the student pricing which is $36 yearly for a personal license. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/m...nt-pricing

This is my concern. Right now I have a subscription directly through Microsoft and which will renew at full price in early September. Can I add the Amazon deal to my Microsoft account or will it end up making a new Microsoft account? And once Amazon starts to "manage" the account, is there any way of removing their management that doesn't require herculean effort?
