Easily the best AVR on the market for this price. No brainer if you're in the market and the budget fits.

TBH it depends, many other options for less especially if you already own external amps(ie Onkyo RZ50, Pioneer LX505,Denon 3800, Marantz Cinema 50).

recently tested by Audioholics and it surpassed its' power specifications when turning the nannies off (Eco mode / low impedance switch off). this is a great price for this unit for those looking for a top performing all-in-one solution.

I agree with you
Nothing even comes close to this for $1000-1500 more , all in, total performance wise

Under that assumption there are still better options imo.

People buy AVRs with pre outs for a reason & unless all your speakers are full range/reference you're paying high price for something you don't need.
So you can easily mitigate that power advantage.

Benchmarks aren't an audible benefit and people always bring up Dirac Live, plenty of other AVRs that offer the exact same one for much less.

People do buy AVR's for a reason, but they don't have to with this particular receiver. Plenty of power with 11 channels and 2 separate sub outs. As stated, it's a good starter and would be great to build out with since not many people would have 11 pairs of speakers off the line.

your points are valid, but I haven't heard much on your side in at least agreeing with the notion that this is a great deal for a broad number of reasons.

That's my point, there isn't broad reasons for this for many starters especially in here.

How many times have people said you only need to worry about quality with your LCRs.

Even you pointed out most starters won't have 11 speakers.
Why would it be a good idea to pay a high dollar for something you won't or never use!

The RZ50 has gone down to $800.
Almost all of those owners are fine with mono sub outs, find no issue with power and includes the same exact Dirac Live RC.
This doesn't seem to have much benefit worth the extra $1200 imo.

If you have the budget for a $2k receiver, then you probably have at least 2-6 speakers. Some people will carry this receiver for 10 years. It took me 3 years to go from a 2..1 system to a 5.2.4, still using the same receiver. Plenty of mileage on my receiver to build out more. Is it the ONLY option available at this cost? C'mon.

It just seems like you're being combative at this point for the sake of being combative.

Don't like it with so many little buttons on the faceplate. Looks busy and not so high end.

Combative, just because I didn't agree with you! 🤔

So tell us after only 3 years what does this offer over the RZ50 worth the extra $1200 with your 5.2.4 setup?

I see crutchfield has it the same price with a 60 day return policy. I've never bought from crutchfield and it sounds like they will charge a restocking fee and shipping fee perhaps. I am also torn if this is worth the extra over the $800 rz50.

How does this compare to the Denon X6800H for $2500?

Can process 2 fewer channels but has Dirac Live license included.

The RZ50 is $799 so $1200 difference.

Here is a comparison of the two.
