You are comparing $1000 stuff to a $250 one? What is wrong with you guys?
Its getting tougher and tougher to find affordable laptops like this anymore. These are perfect for the new college student in your family. It's all they would need. 💻 🏫
Yes, but just know that the Dell bios for this locks down the RAM speed to a maximum of 2666mhz even though the processor can technically run 3200mhz RAM. They did this to force people to buy more expensive models if they wanted to use faster RAM.

Realistically, while that's kind of shady, for the target market, it's not really going to matter.
Signed up for the email, but did not receive any email so far. been over an hour. Anyone else facing this?
I had the same thing happen with one gmail address that was completely unknown to Dell. I tried again with my Dell signin email (also gmail) and I got the coupon right away. No idea if that's by design or if Dell sucks at websites.
Some American Express credit cards have $50 off $250 Dell.com purchase. So make sure you load the coupon on an AMEX credit card, preferably one that extends the warranty as well as provides purchase protection, for additional savings.
Anyone have any experience with this model? Daughter needs a Windows PC for college, and she's already got a new Macbook, so I don't want to spend much.
Why can't she use the new macbook for school? Anything from the last Pre-M1 cpu today's latest M3 should be able to handle anything you throw at it, unless she's trying to game or develop games.

The school specifically says that Windows is required and that a Mac may not be compatible with the software she will need in her major. But I just installed a Windows 11 VM on it using VMWare Fusion and it seems to be OK running Windows Intel code.
Looks like the only downside of getting this is no USBC charging. Adding an extra stick of Ram is easy enough but I'd prefer not to have another charger. Decent reviews for a pretty good cheap laptop
