Negative, that is VSX-LX805, gone on sale for $1749 before.
To add to the VSX-LX505, I would add a simple PC fan to the top powered with an AC adapter to pull some hot air out more organically rather than letting the receiver kick in its own internals. I would really do this for any receiver regardless of brand. It's just extra assurance.
Lastly, for those interested in learning about the dialogue boost option that spreads center channel to towers, here's my thoughts. Dialogue setting is a form of an EQ. It doesn't simply spread to towers, but changes the sound signature slightly: at +5, it decreases bass or fullness and slightly muffles the sound (think TV speakers). If I have an issue with dialogue in movies or games like Rage 2 that for some reason, master gun sounds to only the center instead of the tower, i leave it at +2 for the lease negative effect. +0 is off. Just keep track of the setting because I accidentally left it at +5 for That 70s Show and I thought my receiver was starting to die with the sudden sound signature I'm used to.

$649 for this receiver is steal!!! I got one on Black Friday for $849 and it's worth every penny. It's basically a clone of the award winning Onkyo TX- RZ50 and it has Dirac. Love mine.
Hmm. This or hope that the VSX-LX305 goes on sale again for a 3 zone amp
I've been waiting for the 305 or the nr 7100 to drop back to $550, but no dice on either for the past few months. This 505 seems like overkill for my setup.

It's a nice receiver and I have it. Just can't get over the plastic front panel and knobs, I know it's not the same Pioneer elite of years back, but really??!??
I have Pioneer VSX-S520 since half a year and I am super happy with it. It was released more than 7 years ago and still receives updates. Just recently Pioneer published a bug fix for the inbuilt Chromecast. Only thing that surprises me: The SSL certificate of the Pioneer US website is expiered since a year. It doesn't seem if they care too much about their B2C business.

Voxx acquired Pioneer/Onkyo in 2021 and the build quality hasn't been the same as back in the day!
I missed this last time. Checked last night and it was listed at regular price so I added an alert. For some reason, I haven't received an email, but I hopped on here to browse the Amazon deals and saw this listing! Thanks OP!

How this compares to Yamaha AVENTAGE RX-A2A other than 7.2 vs 9.2
Like comparing a Rav4 to a 4Runner. The Pioneer has 11.2 channels of processing vs. 7.1 for the Yamaha. That's the difference between 7.2.4 and 5.1.2 atmos
