For those who might have had this in the past, the $250 credit is no longer a statement credit but a voucher to use in the Capital One portal. The portal is run by Hopper and is absolutely terrible for searching. If you search for 3 people in 1 room and you will get rooms with one bed and an occupancy limit of 2 people. There is also no way to have it sort to include additional fees and taxes - you just get the base rate until you select your room and then they add all the other charges. Even if you're using points, you get charged additional points at reservation to cover the tax. There can be a limited selection of hotels in some areas, with many common brands missing (compared to Booking or Agoda, or even the major flag portals like Bonvoy or Hilton). The prices are nearly always higher in the Hopper/CapOne portal than one of the major 3rd party (Booking/Priceline/Travelocity/Agoda/Expedia/Kayak meta) site for both hotels and cars, and ofter more expensive than booking direct. IMHO, if you're going to roll the dice booking 3rd party, you should be getting a better rate. If you use points for other than travel (statement credit) you get 1/2c per point, so it really is a travel-centric reward system. /end rant

Other than that it's a decent card and the Eno one-time/one-vendor card numbers are very helpful.
I have had this card for a year and there has not been a single deal or opportunity for the points.
Same. 800+ credit score and got rejected twice.

Add her as authorized user to your venture x account (free). This will give priority pass for lounges. Venture card will have 2 visits per year to cap one lounges and plaza premium but it won't matter since your Venture X will allow unlimited visits.

C1 seems to not do product changes like chase/amex. They may require your wife to apply again for venture X in future. Best to wait a year and contact CS to see if it can be upgraded so you get the $400 total credit on the X vs no credits and still paying $95 annual fee on venture.
Just be aware, C1 has issued too many VX and V1 cards and lounge access is not what it used to be. DFW was their first lounge and it was great for first 2-3 years. Lately, every time I have gone there, there is a 45 minute wait to get in. So unless, you go there at least 2 hours before boarding, you may not be able to spend much time in lounge. They have opened tow more lounges in Denver and D.C. and fourth one is planned to open soon. Priority Pass lounges are few and far in between domestically. Some international destinations are good. We had hard time in Doha to get in the lounge. Once they said it was full and come back in two hours. Other time, they asked us to go to a far away terminal which was 15-20 minutes away. Priority pass also provides lounges through Chase, so sometimes these lounges are overwhelmed. We had good luck in AMD, MAD and LIS, CDG and (I think VIE). Essentially, they are headed towards AmEx territory with lounge access.

Yeah I don't see any option in the app. It keeps telling me to "finish account setup", but that's only to add a second user which I don't plan to.

I did not add an additional user and was able to set up my account in the app. After signing into the app, tap the "Get Your Virtual Card" button that appears beneath your credit card balance

I've been on the app since I got approved, but I don't have that button anywhere.

I even tried calling and they acted as if I had to wait for the real card to arrive and that not everyone was eligible for a virtual card up front, but they couldn't qualify it. Starting to regret this.

Same experience here. I tried for several days after reading the comments here but I was not able to get a virtual card. When I called, they pretty much said the same thing they told you. I did receive my card exactly 10 days after it was approved. Definitely drawn out process for me.

This is true so be aware of their travel agent Hopper. I had horrible family vacation because of it. Booked a place that should fit 6-8 people only to find out they put me on 4 people room. When I called them they said i can chargeback but turned out the chargeback is denied because I used it. I cancelled my card after long back and forth with rude offshore customer service, The price listed is even higher so if you booked without your points, you would still pay the same price

When I applied for the card. I could not get a virtual card. I had to wait for it in the mail.
When I got the card in the mail it was a full 5 business days. Just FYI

Yes. Also, you can merge your cap one savor points to venture x or venture miles. Just an FYI, I already have a venture x card and applied for a venture card to get sign up bonus, but it was declined due to having opened more than 5 accounts in the past 24 months.

Didn't Capital One change their policy so that price matching gives you travel credit, whereas before you would get a straight up refund? I know I'd rather get a refund than travel credit that forces me to continue using their portal, but if you regularly use it to book your travel then I guess the difference is negligible.
Yes it's portal credit for any overage after price matching. But you can keep price matching even when using the bonus credit for the next portal purchase (AFAIK). Regardless, you get 5% points (=cashback on travel) based on the original hotel price you paid, plus you get the credit in the portal. So you get the cheapest possible price plus 5% cashback on top. That makes it a slickdeal every time.

Chase and others have no price matching at all, and their portal prices are still elevated, so I consider Capital One to have a huge advantage in this way.

It's a travel card, so you can use the points to either buy or pay yourself back for any travel purchase, including flights, train, hotels, buses, etc. If you travel even one time a year, this card pays for itself. You don't even have to use the points through the travel portal, just convert to a statement credit.

75,000 points (miles) = $750

If you still haven't found an opportunity to use points, you might have to ask yourself if you're using it wrong.

Lol, I appreciate the primer but I've been a pointsguy.com member for a long time, im not just looking for any redemption I want a DEAL, which is fair to ask especially on this site. Capitalone points are not a deal, I could of put my spending on another card points system (MR or Chase) and found those exact deals. I don't remember my original post and im too lazy to scroll up and check it but I should of said that I can't find anything to spend it on thats BETTER than the other points rewards programs.

I am fully committed to chase. But this card seems good for a one time bonus.

Ok this has to be a joke...I did a pre-approval again and this time it told me I qualified, so I went for it. Automatic approval and they give me a...$2,000 credit line??? Don't I need to spend $4K just to get the bonus?
Same thing happened to me. I have 15k limit with other cards but they gave me a credit of $2k with this one. This is definitely a joke. To make it even more frustrating, card was approved a week ago and I haven't received it yet and CapitalOne still says 'your new card is almost ready! We'll ship it to you soon'.

Clock to spend $4k already started the day card was approved. I spoke to customer care agent about both credit limit and delays in card processing but they are no helpful at all.

Overall, a super frustrating experience with CapitalOne.

Definitely the same issue on my end and they wouldn't issue me a virtual card till I got the physical one. I will have lost close to two weeks of card use because of the delays.
