They are not scams. It's literally free money for shuffling funds around, without credit pulls.
Application was rejected. When I called I was told that is because I live in a state where they don't have a branch
If you already have a US Bank credit card, they'll waive the fee for the Smartly checking account.

Best of luck to everyone who has applied for this, but just wanted to add that I have had nothing but problems with US Bank.

I've had applications for my bank accounts denied multiple times with no response until you call and they 'push it through', I've had bonuses not get paid out and investigations into it that have gone nowhere. Some times I've had issues getting a hold of anyone, and I don't think there's a way to chat on their app or website (so its always a call). The app will randomly forget your credentials.

Recently I tried to move a small amount of money ($15) out of my account and it kept telling me external transfers were not available at the moment and to try again soon, I tried again nothing. Waited a few days tried again, nothing. Called them and they 'unlocked' the account which took 72 hours, after that time period I was able to move the money. Called to have them close the account, and it'll take ten days and they say sometimes it doesn't go through and I'd have to call in again.

Its really just a broken bank from top to bottom.
Sorry to hear that. It's probably just bad luck. I have no trouble or problem at all from opening the account to getting bonus. Smooth sailing all the way. First time US bank customer. I don't even live in the states they operate.

DD includes bank transfer?
Bonus posted in one month? Confused
Maybe not all banks but Chase is. Opened on 4/18, transfered $10K on 5/2, bonus paid 6/10. It was the previous prompt of $500 for $10K DD.

Can someone advise on how easy the mobile app is to use, and if it's possible to download account statements in Excel?

Doesn't sound right to me it's not a credit card. Even credit unions are slowly doing away with hard pulls

I did a bunch of these last year when nearly all banks had schemes to increase deposits rapidly. Of all of them, US Bank was the only one that repeatedly put up roadblocks, told me terms that conflicted their printed materials, told me a week before qualifying I wouldn't get the money because I didn't do (enter made up new qualifiers here), and more.

I actually DID get the money per the terms laid out, but the fact their branches and their CSRs told me wrong things repeatedly just blew my mind and there's no way I'd want to deal with them when there are so many better options including Credit Unions around. Cashed it out as soon as I saw the bonus deposited, never been back.

If you're on doctor of credit, I think a key guidance is you don't mess with the CSR or branches except to confirm that promo applied properly

Then meet the terms. Wait. Get money, leave

And don't call the bank for bonus if it doesn't post unless you actually met terms to a tee. For instance, true employer DD rather than spoofed one

In short, just keep it simple and meet the requirements is the name of the game

And it wasn't just last year. These promos have been ongoing for a long time. Fun and mostly easy game to play especially if you like reading terms and DPs and whatnot

DoC excellent site all around for it IMO

I did it and have done two more with them over the past five years. No problem with them posting for me

Follow the instructions to a tee

Hard for most to do unless you've got some experience doing it, enjoy it as a hobby, or have background in critical reading

Not throwing shade. Just saying that most can't and don't read fine print or know how to. That's not a bad thing. It's just a skill some have and some don't. But needed for this particular endeavor

And a lot of slickdeals deals incidentally. Read fine print and data points, etc. And some digital literacy needed too
