Yes. But I can't simply just reply yes because slickdeals says three letters is too short of a reply so I'll write all this just to satisfy their requirements. But yes

Great for rentals... bought 2
How do you access this if your renters don't share the WiFi on the sprinkler unit? My idea is to hotspot this device to my phone and make adjustments that way?

After having Rachio I cannot see any reason to use a different system. The app works great. I can be testing a zone with in 10 second of pulling my phone out. And its great that you can connect it to a weather station and not have to monitor if it is going to rain.

So in other words, the same as the B-hyve, but more expensive...

It's on the list of the EPA's WaterSense products: https://lookforwatersense.epa.gov...oller.html (search for 57946). So if your area has a rebate program, you should be able to get a decent rebate for this. Utah's is here: https://www.utahwatersavers.com/s...lerprogram

I have a fairly small setup (2 zones), controlled by a very old, basic Orbit controler. Will this work okay for me? And if so, it's a straight-forward upgrade?

Also, does this have full programming functionality without the app and Wi-Fi (sans weather checking features of course)?

Can I use the 6 station version to control 8 stations?
Yes, but have to remember that no more than 2 stations connected at one terminal and that you should have enough water supply/pressure to run two stations simultaneously. I have this on two + two drip stations for the past 4+ years.

Mine failed at 4 years. Seems a lot of them do at that length of time. Google this and refer to "no AC" as the problem code. Called orbits and they told me the unit was not repairable. Paid $150 for 4?years usage. Not very happy.
