Never liked 2 pieces in any rod 7.5' and shorter. Unless you keep re-seating it, it eventually flies off into the lake. Just my opinion...

Or cheap (<$100 2-piece rods), I am fairly strong and seat them in pretty good but I also cast pretty hard and from a engineering perspective, single piece blanks will always be superior. Now if you need to break it down to pack then go ahead and buy a 2 piece.
