Have the 8 GB RAM, and turning on the "reduce animations" (Settings -> Accessibility -> Vision enhancements -> Reduce animations (toggle on) made a HUGE difference and is a game changer! Feels much faster and snappier in response. Initially had animations reduced to 0.5x under the developer option, and still felt jittery at times. But the reduce animation makes this feel like a $500+ tablet!

Even the fastest SD cards are orders of magnitude too slow to be anything close to system memory

Where are you seeing the P11 Pro for sale? All I can find is a refurb from a Target reseller and listings from Mercari, eBay, etc.
For slightly more? Like 65% more?

Could you point me to the source which has the details of Samsung using SSD for 8GB RAM?
SD and SSD are different things. I dont understand what you are asking, maybe you meant to reply to someone else

This sounds like a terrible idea to use SD card as RAM. RAM is about 100x faster than SD in terms of throughput maybe 1000x faster is terms of Random Access (it's in the name).

The tablet is probably using some kind of software to trick android OS to see SD card as RAM or maybe worse, allocating it for RAM purposes.

SD speed is a physical limitation that can't be overcome just because you renamed it. It's like putting a spare tire on a F1 and expecting it to go 200 mph. No, now slow your car down to 50mph max
This is called virtual memory on PCs and it's been around since the dark ages even before Windows 95. Except back then when you reached your capacity it used the slow hard disk drives. It's a better solution to use some of your SD card than to just say "sorry, this operation can't run, we don't have enough memory"... but it would be nice if there was some notification so you can find things that are taking up memory you can close.

Thanks. Got 3 of them. Unfortunately the Navy blue was not in stock and they charged me shipping for the two charcoal, but excellent upgrade from my sorry Fire tablet.

I bought a couple of these previous for a little bit more and ended up selling them both because I didn't think they were worth the 180 that I paid for them but at this price easier to swallow just don't expect a lag-free experience

Actually it's a good feature that move temporary unused apps in background to virtual storage created by slower storage and free up and allocate more RAM to the active apps. By doing this, your device actually running faster with foreground apps.

I want to use this solely for Xbox cloud gaming. I know the graphics will take a hit. Would it be at least playable?

Fire max 11 has better video and sound for streaming.
