This one doesn't seem to be affected. It's not the Extreme series and the part number doesn't match the ones affected.

I've looked into this. The Extremes are the ones impacted, not this model.

For macOS you just use Disk Utility (built into Mac) to format any drive. If you're not sure how to use it there are a bunch of YouTube videos that go through it step by step. And yes this drive can be formatted on for Mac.
